Morrisons Organic Turkey £147

https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/12...1652227841.jpg
[A picture of the Morrisons' 7kg The Best
Organic Bronze Turkey serving eight to 12 people

went viral on Reddit yesterday]

I understand it is pure Free Range
but the price is crazy.

['This is also a huge bird. £20 a kilo for good
quality meat isn't all that crazy.

'If I was paying that much I would prefer
to go through a butcher I trust,
but that's just me.]

That's ridiculous.

Mystic Mock 23-12-2022 03:54 AM

That surely has to be a misprint on Morrison's behalf?

Vanessa 23-12-2022 04:27 AM

Not keen on turkey. So no thanks.

bots 23-12-2022 04:34 AM

we have fillet steak for christmas, and pound for pound its more expensive than that

Vanessa 23-12-2022 08:06 AM

My mum used to make chicken for Christmas dinner.
Everyone just preferred it to turkey.

Crimson Dynamo 23-12-2022 08:14 AM

I think the price is right

I wonder what the equivalent price was last year.

Redway 23-12-2022 12:08 PM

I thought £27.99 was expensive enough when I bought an "extra-large" one on Tuesday.

Quail, goose, duck and grouse are other meats that are a lot tastier than turkey, to be honest. I do love my turkey but if I had to put a particular occasion/time of year on it it would be October (thanksgiving traditions from the States might have something to do with it). For Christmas you might as well just go with whatever meat you fancy/tastes better to you. It don't have to be turkey every year.

It's not goose or even duck, nor is Morrisons Waitrose (as nice as it is in its own right). How are they going to be selling a meat that's going to end up dry on the Christmas table for £150?

Alot less.

But this year Bird Flu
has made all stock worse.

But some farmers are feeding their Turkeys
Quality Feed
So Organic means well above your standard stock.

GoldHeart 23-12-2022 01:35 PM

I've only just noticed the PRICE!!! :skull:, are they off their rockers!?? ....£147!!!! just for a turkey.

The farmer spoke on the Radio
saying how it is feed Top Quality Food
None of the South American grain imports.

Was debated Live on Ch5HD AM
today

Organic, the key word

It's a bit mad but.... it's a "luxury version" so it's not like anyone has to buy it. It's no more "crazy" than a £100 bottle of wine or a £500 bottle of Whisky .

We're just getting a big ol' chicken this year though. Usually do Turkey but it's just 5 of us this year and you suddenly realise --- everyone whose going to be there prefers chicken (and gammon which will also be on) and the only reason you're getting a turkey at all would be "cos it's Christmas". Pointless really.

Very Nice LT

But a Crown is not a Big Turkey.
No Comparison
That £147 feeds 12 adults
