In the Kings first New Years Honours he will Knight Queen star Brian May and Athlete Denise Lewis who was instrumental in the Birmingham Commonwealth games

Grayson Perry and Mary Quant also knighted

I thought Denise was already a Dame.

Weird it's taken so long after her retirement from athletics that she's been honoured.

Any honours for Kevin Sinfield? It's about time he recieved the big one of a Knighthood.

Honestly for me.
Just scrap these awards except for real acts of any heroism.

It's ridiculous the people who get them now.
Across the board as to entertainment and sporting reasons given.

As for charity issues too.
The real people who honour charities are the ones who DON'T have it made well known what they do or give to them.

Time to scrap this nonsense of extra gongs and titles
It's why I admire those like David Bowie who in his lifetime refused any of these now more tarnished awards.

Brian May is one of those people I kind of assumed had been Knighted years ago.

JK Rowling and John Cleese are others who I find it weird haven't had the shoulder tap.

it's a really sneaky system, because they inter mix people who have genuinely made a difference and earned it, with complete frauds. I have a pal that was knighted purely for the job he was paid to do. It stinks

At the end of the day, we're all just Yahoos playing with wor shiny rocks. If some people are more deserving of others for having extra letters added to their name, then yay.

I doubt the Royal Family cares about braindead Twitter hatemobs. Acknowledging the existence of sex doesn't outweigh her contributions to children's literacy and charity.
