Anyone ever had strep A?

So I was diagnosed with it 2 days ago after being misdiagnosed with a chest infection and I've developed this horrible taste in my mouth, does anyone know if that's normal with Strep?

GoldHeart 04-01-2023 07:19 PM

I've never heard of this condition :conf:

Oh I just googled it ,yeah ...I have heard of it now . Scarlett fever is apart of it .

Do they not know what causes the infection?? . It sounds a bit like a COVID or flu symptom in general.

I'm on antibiotics and it's no longer contagious after the first 24 hours on them

I feel fine after 2 days apart from a hoarse voice and this nasty taste everytime I eat drink but I'm hoping it just because its a bacteria infection and will be gone very soon

I've had a sore throat recently, but now it's better.
Don't think it was strep a.

Yes it is

That is why Sterpsils are called Strepsils ....A sore throat is Strep but it can go in to be a serious condition in a MINORITY of cases

Its a bacterial infection that has a sore throats as one of the symptoms so get your facts right

Group A Streptococcus (GAS), also known as Strep A, are bacteria commonly found on the skin or in the throat. Under some circumstances these bacteria can cause disease. GAS infection commonly presents as a mild sore throat ('strep throat') and skin/soft tissue infections such as impetigo and cellulitis.

If you have a sore throat caused by a bacterial infection the likelihood is you will have a bad taste in your mouth...it’s not rocket science

Scarlet Fever is very dangerous to children, not so much for adults. It is called scarlet fever because the rash gives your face the look that it has been sunburnt
