Surrey :Women, 28 dog walker is killed by her 8 dogs

Owners of the dogs have contacted the Police.

It is ok to take 8 dogs
so long as you have good control
and they like you.

Tragic

[Dog walker, 28, who was walking
a 'number of dogs' was mauled to death
in Surrey woodland and another victim
was rushed to hospital suffering bites
before armed police seized EIGHT animals

Woman killed by dog in Surrey was a
28-year-old dog walker from London
Officers were called to reports of a
dog attack in Caterham at 2.45pm yesterday
Another woman was rushed to hospital
with bites, police said
Eight dogs have been seized by police
and no arrests have been made]

It's pretty stupid of these dog walkers to take multiple dogs on a walk when they're all from different homes and may not be familiar or like each other, they start fighting among themselves and that can spill over if the dog walker tries to intervene

RIP to the woman though

a person is not going to be in control walking 8 dogs at the same time. It doesnt matter what size the dogs were, its impossible to control 8 on your own

100% agree, 4 small dogs or 2 large dogs as an absolute maximum and that's depending on the size and age of the walker. ONE very large dog.

If you can't plant your feet and not be moved easily by the dog/dogs you shouldn't be walking them at all and the idea that anyone can be in simultaneous control of EIGHT dogs is mad. Even if it was 8 very gentle dogs, you simply can't keep track of them, so they're at risk of encountering other animals or from traffic at the very least.

Obviously a horrendous thing to happen, but this was never a safe choice by any stretch.

I think one of those dogs was the Leader
and may have started the attack.

The more dogs,
the more cash.

A nice green
public walk.

Having 8 was the problem.

I totally agree.

Tragic and horrific thing to happen but extremely unwise to take so many out at the same time.

The 2nd Lady who was walking by
has now been, released from Hospital.

That lady may have seen what was going on.

All 8 dogs are at the Police station.

Yes, a Dog Walker gets Cash per dog

So 8 gets her more cash

arista 14-01-2023 03:40 AM

One Dog started it all.
Attacked a passer-by.

This is terrible news on so many levels.

Like others have said on here, you can't look after 8 Dogs by yourself, I've had family members being stressed at looking after one Dog, let alone eight of them.

RIP to the woman though.

Beats me why people would have a dog then pay someone else to walk it.

It’s no different to countless royals , down the centuries or, having babies/children and having virtually no input into their care ..

Many of those dogs on the Walk
have owners that are working
or disabled, unable to walk.

It is a Big business now
maybe rules on the amount of dogs
would help
A max of 4 per person etc.

Even 4 seems too many ...the only positive is that anyone else was not seriously injured

Not all dogs attacked her 2 were Sausage dogs, but there was a terrible tangle of leads and the dogs would be trying to get away and panicked. One of the dogs was a Leonberger which probably weighed much more than she did

What a strange comparison.

arista 14-01-2023 03:01 PM

"Not all dogs attacked her, 2 were Sausage dogs,"

OK LT
So around 6 dogs killed her

arista 14-01-2023 03:02 PM

"One of the dogs was a Leonberger"

Nice Photo
of happy one LT.

arista 16-01-2023 07:36 AM

The one dog of that 8
the did damage
was an American Pitbull.

The wrong type of dog
to go with a pack of dogs
