TiBB Music Festival: Pittsburgh 2023
21 & 25 March 2023

Official Wikia: Click Here!

It is time to let the competition begin again (and last time we did this was in February of 2021)! I, with Shaun's knowledge AND Riley's (Wizard) lovely ideas, decided to create a spiritual successor to TiBB Eurovision.

Now it's time to start a new era for the contest: doing main edition yearly every April... and we're starting back from square one in Pittsburgh! What songs will be heard? Where are the constant translations into French? When will the madness end? No idea.

Quote:

Past editions of TiBB Music Festival:
Pittsburgh 01 (August 2019) - (Winner: Australia, ceremony starts p.4)
Gold Coast 02 (October 2019) - (Winner: Serbia, ceremony starts p.2)
Belgrade 03 (January 2020) - (Winner: Norway, ceremony starts p.4)
Oslo 04 (March 2020) - (Winner: United Kingdom, ceremony starts p.2)
Manchester 05 (April 2020) - (Winner: Italy, ceremony starts p.2)
Italy 06 (June 2020) - (Winner: Denmark, ceremony starts p.2)
Copenhagen 07 (August 2020) - (Winner: United States, final starts p.3)
Pittsburgh 08 (February 2021) - (Winner: South Korea, ceremony starts p.4)
FORMAT

The format of the TiBB Music Festival will remain similar to TiBB Eurovision, however, there are some changes. I will have a Spotify playlist of all of the songs for you to listen to the songs during the voting period.

VOTING SYSTEM

The voting system from the first few editions returns. Every country will each give out two sets of 12, 10, and 8-1 points; one for the jury voting, and the other for the televoting.

RULES

- If you want to take part, reply to this thread with the countries you want! But please, if you do reserve a country, I expect an entry.
--From this edition onwards, everyone can choose 1 to 5 countries to participate as.
- In a change from TiBB Eurovision, participants can now choose a song that is already in the public database (look on Spotify or YouTube, there are plenty of songs on either one).
- Lyrics, an artist name, song title AND music video are all that's required.
- Entries must be submitted to me as soon as possible. The voting portion of the contest will take place over the course of a 1 week period.
- And for the first time since Globalvision, countries that are not in Europe or Australia will be able to participate.

You have as much time as you need to find your entries. Please find songs that we all may enjoy, and please don't feel afraid to take part The more entries, the more fun it is to run. Songs can be about anything you like, and whilst we are fairly liberal with what is deemed "in good taste" obviously a song containing 30 different death threats may well find itself lost in my inbox and doomed never to enter.

The winner of this glorious festivity shall also receive a supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics a spot in the TiBB Music Festival Hall of Fame! - so if that isn't motivation to bring your A-game, I don't know what is.

Like last edition, the Big 6 (the top 6 of the previous edition) will all qualify for the final. All of the countries mentioned below will be free game. Please do note that China, Denmark, France, Germany, and Italy were the bottom 5 last edition and were relegated from participating this edition.

Come on the United Kingdom! Let's have it!

Josiah. 28-01-2023 01:03 PM

I personally have chosen Canada, Morocco, and Norway; which I had chosen when this had originally been scheduled for 2021.

Nicky91 31-01-2023 07:56 AM

i've chosen my entries now and i can tease they're good fun and uplifting songs

Josiah. 31-01-2023 01:10 PM

When this finally happens in April, this is gonna be a fun time.

Nicky91 01-02-2023 01:26 PM

fun fact, the artist i chose for latvia, took part as the duo Fomins & Kleins at eurovision back in 2004

Josiah. 01-02-2023 01:58 PM

I can say that Ghana, Greece, and South Korea have songs but do not have any member backing them. If anyone wants to choose them, feel free too; because with Calderyon on a break, there isn't anyone to choose South Korea.

Josiah. 01-02-2023 08:01 PM

Another bump for people to choose countries.

Josiah. 03-02-2023 01:36 PM

To everyone who's chosen countries, when I do the recap video and the results videos in April; I have a question...

Should I do voting how I have done it with the overall jury points revealed followed by the televoting points OR should I have the jury points revealed country by country before revealing the televoting points?

Nicky91 03-02-2023 01:50 PM

country by country

Josiah. 06-02-2023 02:40 PM

I have also chosen Sweden.

Ghana, Greece, and South Korea are still "free-agents".

Josiah. 09-02-2023 03:35 PM

Nicky, please look at your PMs

Josiah. 15-02-2023 09:21 PM

Bumping this.

Josiah. 23-02-2023 12:45 AM

I'm contemplating moving this forward to earlier dates in March.

Josiah. 27-02-2023 07:43 PM

South Korea and Ghana still need chosen by people.

I'm upset that this isn't as popular as it used to be because of lack of people on the forum and the (what feels like hundreds) of debate threads, amongst other threads.

Here's an example of what the scoreboard will look like:
