I remember the theme tune and the blue egg cup. But I thought it was Nick Owen and Anne Diamond who were the presenters. Don't remember David Frost, Michael Parkinson and Angela Rippon doing it.

they got the boot very quickly after launch

There was all sorts of turmoil with strikes, so they ended up showing the old batman series rather than any news, then they introduced Roland Rat and that's what drove it to success :laugh:
