My work in progress retro/entertainment corner on a budget

1 Attachment(s)
Been busying myself with this in the evenings over the past few days. Got my main TV, PS4 etc in one corner, and my retro stuff in the other (CRT TV/PS1/PS2, VHS Player and a Mega Drive in the draw).

I still need to fill the cabinet with VHS (i have loads of original horror, sci-fi, and action videos boxed in another room) and some games.

Also, just done a deal with a guy for a load of posters on ebay. The current Crow poster i love, but its too scuffed. So will cover that wall with the posters in the link, as a backdrop. And some on the side too.

Been a really fun little project. Picked the wooden Pine TV stand up from Crawley for a tenner last night, bargain!

Link to posters. He has hundreds, i picked out 15, asked him how much, he made a listing with them all, then told me to make an offer of £45 and he'll accept

Cool.....my ex used to collect posters too. We had them all over the loft conversion.....he bought a load of quad ones from old cinemas. They did look cool to be honest, as much as I moaned

Those quad ones are brilliant, they go for really good money on ebay too, the original ones anyone. The ones i've got coming are reprints, but still gonna look cool

I'd probably get on really well with your ex lol, into his horror and video nasty stuff, all the cool posters etc. :joker:

It became an obsession....he would put ads put for old videos and we ended up with hundreds all over the house. He went and emptied an old video shop.....on the off chance there were some hidden treasures....there wasn't so I got stuck with 100s of bad 80s video tapes everywhere

If he did find anything he would spend hours cleaning etc. It got right on my nerves at times but kept him entertained

There's a lot of history to some videos though....its quite interesting.

Post pics of your set up when its done

I really do understand that lol, i love buying and selling old psychical media, and i have a huge fascination with older VHS. Was he more into Ex-Rental, big box vhs? That's where all the collectors go.

Spending hours as a kid in video shops is probably why im so into videos now, and always have been

And yeah, the history of it VHS really is interesting, just a very niche thing nowadays.

There are 15 posters in that listing Arista, he made the listing because those 15 were the ones i wanted, and told me to offer £45 and he'd accept.
