no new money for defence despite
recognising the urgent need to rearm
in the wake of Russia's war in Ukraine,
defence sources have said.

a "refresh" of UK defence policy - that was meant

and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak - could
be delayed
until after the March budget because
an initial draft failed to reflect sufficiently

We're arming Ukraine because they are fighting off the Russians. Now we're going to cut back our own defence budget while war rages a couple of borders over. Sound familiar? sound like the 1930s? When the woolly Liberals and hand-wringers decided it would be a good time to disarm? Have we learned nothing?

they will have to spend the money eventually, this war isnt ending any time soon, and governments indicating it will end this year have their heads in the clouds

I reckon it's just to get the US to dip into their extraordinary military budget and give us some of their stuff (because of the UK's strategic importance as a US ally in Europe).

Realistically if it came down to it, the US would supply a UK-at-war with as many planes, drones and missiles as we need. The stock they have and the money they've spent compared to any other country in the world is just staggering. Even if they stopped developing and building new and just maintained what they have, it would take any other global power decades to come anywhere close to catching up.

The US would supply us? You realise we only finished paying back the US for WW2 in 2006. The US being the only country to come out of the second world war in profit.

I bet that all the tanks , planes and weapons being supplied by us and the other countries to Ukraine end up in the hands of the Russian army when this is all said and done ..

cheaper Iran Bomber Drones
and happy to keep Firing Deadly Missiles
onto Homes in Ukraine.
Some are Stopped,

But out of 10 Missiles, 3 may get through

Hell for those people.
