Gawd knows. It's on a John Lennon Canvas (shown in the pics). Been sitting up my Granddad's place for years. No idea if it's worth £20 or whatever. He doesn't know much about it either, only that he's had it forever. Dated 1964.

Niamh. 08-02-2023 02:01 PM

Definitely starts with Ry anyway :p

LeatherTrumpet 08-02-2023 02:03 PM

the end one is who the portrait is of john lennon and the first sig looks like Rymev

Cherie 08-02-2023 02:03 PM

LT is the man for this he will tell you if it worth a bob or two

Cherie 08-02-2023 02:04 PM

yep Rymev or Rymav

LeatherTrumpet 08-02-2023 02:08 PM

Drives me barmy when someone paints a half decent landscape and then ruins the whole thing by scrawling their stupid name in a corner like anyone cares or they are going to be famous

They also hardly ever write on the back what the fecking pic is of

too busy runing their work on the front

I've had a good google, can't find anything. Could be so rare it's worth millions :hee::joker:

I might just whack it on ebay and see if i get 10 or 20 quid. It's in bad condition with the paint spurts on it, looks like someone just left it there and rolled the walls around it instead of putting it in another room too

Swan 08-02-2023 02:17 PM

LT, what do you think of it, you think it's a print on canvas? I can't tell im crap with all this. Also got a ton of silver spoons, but pretty sure they're silver plate

Yeah true

Swan 08-02-2023 02:35 PM

Ebay is recommending i start the bidding at £1200????

I dunno what to do now, should i take it to someone who knows their stuff, and can tell me if it's worth anything? :joker:

LeatherTrumpet 08-02-2023 02:43 PM

It looks like acrylic on canvas

if you take a magnifying glass to it and it was a print you would see the little dots that make a print

but looks like a painting and the back side should look like this

It will be worth something to a Beatles fan. Id stick in on at 0.99 for 7 or 10 days and let the market decide.

parmnion 08-02-2023 02:58 PM

Stick it on for £1200

I've made the listing, it wont be live just yet. I might be a knob and put it on for a few bob and see if i get any questions or interest. If not, i'll whack it on for 99p and see where it goes.

Your help has been greatly appreciated :wavey:

Start high .

Seems a fair tactic

You can reduce the price in the coming weeks …

Yeah that's a good point, i probably could actually.

bitontheslide 08-02-2023 03:21 PM

something is only worth what people are prepared to pay for it. That's all it's about really.

If it's a sought after item, the bids will come in

Its a poor tactic and the number one reason why things dont sell on ebay

Get it in low and gets some bids and that will draw a crowd

If that was up for sale at the auctions I attend it would probably make £10-£20

Kate! 08-02-2023 03:23 PM

Definitely go with Ebays recommendation. Don't put it on it at a quid please. You'd be gutted if it could've sold for a mint.

bitontheslide 08-02-2023 03:24 PM

you can withdraw it from sale before the auction ends if you are not happy with the bidding, just make sure its on for a reasonable time scale
