I’m a few episodes into series 2 now

Still loving every minute ..

I do wonder what goes through the minds of the writers who come up with the ideas / storylines of programs like YOU or Dexter .

Joe is no Dexter though, Joe is a stalker creep, Dexter takes out the trash, infact in the same universe Joe would be on Dexters hit list let's be honest

I’m just seeing similarities between him and Dexter at this stage .. so far the victims kinda deserved it ..

Joe even has ‘visits’ from an elder guy who sees he has ‘demons’ and gave him ground rules to protect himself .. just like in Dexter .. it even felt like a ‘nod’ to Dexter tbh

None of Joe's victims deserved it. Dexter only killed murderers who got away with it. Some of Joe's victims might have been assholes that doesn't mean they deserve death though.

Yeah the inner monologue is the only real similarity really.

Plus the older guys both saying that the they noticed that they both had ‘demons’ and giving them both a code to avoid being caught

Oh yeah .. I did say ‘similarities’ though …
Plus neither of the guys were their actual dads were they ? Dexter was his adoptive dad and Joe’s was old Mr Mooney the book shop owner -not sure how he was related to Joe if at all

Both guys said that the lads had a bloodlust and would need to follow a code .. both guys came to them in ‘flashbacks’

Both main characters were really , really nice , unassuming guys on the surface .. and both a bit quirky

No Joe wasn't related to book shop man and Dexters dad had adopted him (most people would still consider that their dad though )

Any ideas why I find his wife LOVE so familiar ??

I’ve checked through her movies and tv series on IMDB but there’s nothing there that I’ve seen

Does she look incredibly similar to another actress ??

Maybe Liv Tyler ( Aerosmith’s daughter )
