Are you using a wood burner? You could face a £1,000 Fine
[Many hopes have been dashed after
councils across the country try to ban the nifty wood burners to protect the environment. The Government is looking to crack down on misuse of the stoves and has told council chiefs to look at imposing on-the-spot civil penalties, which could be as much as £300. Some councils are imposing even larger fines of up to £1,000 to people using a wood burner. The Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs' interactive map (On the Link) will show you just how much you might have to pay in penalty charges if you dare to use a wood burner in your own home.] https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...od-burner.html https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/02...5944679011.jpg All the Cash to get that working wasted. There's also a big issue with people using chopped up treated wood - old doors, tables and chairs, other furniture - if it's painted or varnished it can release a load of pollutants when burned.
Not a huge issue if a few people are doing it but if thousands start doing it, more of a problem. |
