Netflix Cancels Woke Kids Show With Non Binary Character
https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/03...8892660326.jpg Netflix has 'quietly canceled' a woke animated kids' show which features a bison who comes out as non-binary to its grandmother. Ridley Jones released its fifth and final season last week, which was not given any promotion, the show's creator Chris Nee claimed in a tweet. The two-time Kidscreen Award winner and Emmy nominee series received harsh criticism online following the release of Episode 8 of Season 5, 'Herd Day' which centers around a bison called Fred, who comes out as non-binary to their grandmother - who is voiced by Cyndi Lauper. Some viewers blasted the show on Twitter claiming Fred's non-binary identity was slipped into the show's narrative. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/03...8892056003.jpg https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art....html#comments |
they signed a contract with H & M, that should tell you all you need to know

OMG how unlike Netflix to cancel shows.

'Netflix has 'quietly canceled' a woke animated kids' show which features a
bison who comes out as non-binary to its grandmother.' Proof, if proof be needed, that crazy people are in charge of most things today. |
Getting upset over a child's TV show? Those said little snowflakes that cry 'woke' every second like they're demented pokemon truly have nothing going on with their lives, do they? Like, you have to be seriously sad to get upset over an NB character or the writer being a lesbian. I almost pity the 'woke' screeching crowd, they lead no mark lives defined by bitterness that's ultimately pointless.
Also 5 seasons is a lot for Netflix, it more likely came to a natural end but that's not likely going to get clicks from gullible people who share this ****. |
LT (and Pro Sniper), its threads like this or the BBCAN live feeds thread that needs me to say this... For the love of God, please stop. These threads aren't helping with a potential revival to this forum if we're gonna be so negative and antagonistic all the time. And to be honest, it's making a lot of people uncomfortable.

When BB was on, people came on and posted on the BB forum, argued for 8 weeks and then left, very few people looked in the other parts of the forum or knew they existed, there is not going to be any revival of this part of the forum, there will be a boost hopefully in the BB section that is it

what is woke, idk what the hell that is or means
and i personally don't care, but Netflix cancelling shows, that is no news anymore  Netflix isn't respectful to series at all, do you know how much hard work is put into that? just for Netflix to say whenever it isn't getting the reception they want: ur cancelled :skull: |
When you’re offended by a cartoon cow maybe it’s time to step away from the internet
|
Nicky is largely right on this one, Netflix have absolutely no strategy or "long game" for their shows and if viewership drops they get canned. Purely a numbers game.

It's not really about diverse content either - it's also been very well demonstrated that when done right it can be very successful... but people aren't stupid, they know when they're looking at something genuine and diverse, and when they're looking at a DEI department's checkbox list . |
GADS can we please stop reposting this yammering prick though. Every one of his videos summed up;
https://gifimage.net/wp-content/uplo...erry-gif-8.gif Just stop. Stop platforming these sad little weasels! |
Tbf 5 Seasons is a successful run on Netflix.

It's not that Shows with minority characters can't be good, it's the shortage of good writers in Hollywood that's the issue at the moment. And as a side note about that one Tweet on this thread, how the **** is a Show about the lead being Non-Binary #grooming?:conf: |

My favourite type of conservative are the ones that can’t even describe the things that they’re so vehemently against, it’s a beautiful sight

I'd even add the caveat that if the execution is good enough and the writing is on point, it can compensate for clear political intent. When it's written by the unpaid intern at Netflix with an assumption that it'll get by purely by appealing to a certain demographic ... not so much. |
