Are you happy in your workplace?

I usually am, but i was angry yesterday and left a little early. :hehe:
I'm still a bit annoyed, hopefully I'll feel better later.
I admit I have a bit of a temper.
But it's hard to control yourself when some people accuse you of things you didn't do :fist:

I'm reasonably happy but not very fulfilled, I'm trying quite hard to get a new job or a promotion because I don't feel under enough pressure where I am really. It's a big change from my last job which was much worse for pay, lower skilled, worse work/life balance etc but at least I was always busy there

MTVN 25-03-2023 12:10 PM

Why did you get annoyed yesterday Vanessa?

Cherie 25-03-2023 12:26 PM

I work one hour a day on my laptop usually in bed as I do it first thing so very happy

Be careful what you wish for Matt I left my last job as it got too pressurised and stressful

i've scaled back my work a lot and completely removed the stress element from it, so the exact opposite of Matt  I'm happy enough doing what i do

Maybe although seems unlikely in the civil service :joker: I've always done better in education and work when I'm under a bit of pressure although yeah that can always go too far

I'd just like a bit more money tbh as well so I can get myself a pet cat :cat:

Boris said his team were ridiculously busy, and needed many drunken parties to unwind, so there must be stress somewhere in the civil service

My brother worked for the civil service over the summer once, and he took 2 weeks off and no-one noticed

rusticgal 25-03-2023 01:28 PM

I am a Receptionist at a Medical Practice....so no

The hours are perfect for me though and my collegues are great...

I'm sure the senior people during covid were working very hard and maybe I'm being a bit unkind to my colleagues by generalising. I've never had an employer so conscious to helping staff avoid stress though, there's endless wellbeing seminars, resources etc. plus there's the flexible hours, good job security etc. In some ways it's all very progressive but it was a bit of a culture shock from being in a private sector role where no one gave a damn about you

One of my superiors accused me of something I didn't do. Thank god we have cameras at work.

Nope. :fist:

Vanessa 25-03-2023 04:25 PM

My workplace is very stressful.
Definitely a challenge, but it keeps me busy.

Redway 25-03-2023 04:27 PM

Meh. I guess I just get on. That’s all I can do for now.

It wasn’t just booze. The whole of that street was snorting coke during most of the pandemic.

That's actually pretty worrying ...how easily people can lie and try to ruin someone's reputation. Good job about camera's, sadly they're not always around though to prove someone's innocence.

Post office management are an example of that.

The cameras where we're working are always running. Thankfully.

Thank God for that, V. I hope you’re not too shaken after it all.

Horrible...they are not superior Ness...just poor managers

Vanessa 25-03-2023 05:22 PM

Yes, she's awful. Not the only one, some of them are really infuriating.

AnnieK 25-03-2023 05:50 PM

Do you have a HR Dept Ness? I would make a complaint to them if you do

Bollo 25-03-2023 07:59 PM

Don't know what your work environment is but I've worked in my office for 10+ years and my god there has been some complete bellends pass through that will bull**** and pass the buck all the time. But I've learnt from experience to put full notes on our system or communicate anything i am unsure of by email so that nothing can come back on me ! Thankfully the current team is honest and reliable but I still cover my back just in case ...
