I don’t understand how the post office is struggling given we all send and receive twenty times more parcels and packages nowadays due to online purchases and sales ( eBay , Amazon etc )

Fair enough.. it’s just that they’re ideally placed to thrive in this age of buying / selling online They just need to adapt / evolve very quickly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

of what is to come. Possible Take Over could happen, though. |
There's barely any margin in most of the services they offer and they're pretty much all declining. Agree with bots they won't be allowed to go under though as they offer so many vital services
Remember that the Post Office and Royal Mail are separate entities as well - they only ready things for posting, they don't actually act as a courier. The local postie won't even be a Post Office employee so is probably talking rubbish lol |

I'm not sure, I forgot about that part, so forgot to ask him.
Sounded like the actual post office to me though by the way he was talking. |

Could be this: Royal Mail to axe up to 10,000 jobs as losses rise [Royal Mail has announced plans to cut 10,000 jobs by next August, blaming ongoing strike action and rising losses at the business. The postal company said it will begin notifying workers of its plan, which includes up to 6,000 redundancies. Apart from the redundancies, the firm will cut roles through natural attrition, for example by not replacing workers who leave. Royal Mail also said it expects its full-year losses to hit £350m. It said this included "the direct impact of eight days of industrial action" as well as lower volumes of parcels being posted. But the firm warned that losses could reach as much as £450m "if customers move volume away for longer periods" following strike action.] [Mr Thompson told the BBC that nearly 20 years ago, Royal Mail delivered 20 billion letters a year. Today, it is eight billion. "We are now a parcels business that also delivers letters," he said] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63253687 |
It was the auditors who moved in, not the liquidators.
