Obviously it's Singin' in the rain.

Grease will always be the most iconic.

To teenagers. Not as good when you've grown up.

rusticgal 08-04-2023 11:25 PM

The Sound of Music…followed by Grease.

GoldHeart 09-04-2023 01:08 AM

Bugsy Malone
Greatest Showman
Phantom Of the Opera
The Wiz
Hairspray

LaLaLand 09-04-2023 01:11 AM

La La Land is really excellent (no relation I promise :joker: )

Not only is it a good story with good music it's wonderfully shot too. Damien Chazelle is a fantastic director. Makes Los Angeles look beautiful.

LaLaLand 09-04-2023 01:26 AM

Cabaret is another great one too, although I hate how dumbed down/glamourized it is compared to the actual theatre show version. That's so, so dark.

Kazanne 09-04-2023 10:21 AM

Has to be Oliver for me and Phantom of the Opera.

Niamh said that number 1 is The Commitments

Tony Montana 09-04-2023 11:18 AM

Bugsy Malone of course.

I'm surprised no one hasn't mentioned The Lion King already.

I was thinking about putting some animation ones in, Snow White and the seven dwarfs, Pinocchio, The Jungle Book, The Lion King. But I decided to leave them under the animation genre.

It would be between My Fair Lady and Finian's Rainbow for me.

I really like the vast majority of musicals however.

bots 09-04-2023 12:18 PM

i can't abide musicals, so there is no answer to this question :smug:

Love the one with Liza Minnelli. I've always been a big fan.
Anything with her I love.
