St George's day

Happy St George's day to my fellow English patriotic Men and Women.

Greatest country on Earth, long may it continue.

Mystic Mock 23-04-2023 02:32 AM

Happy St. George's Day.

Hopefully it'll be a good one.

And fish and chips is Portuguese. And tea is Indian or from China.

Sadly they can't help themselves, they're just very, very xenophobic. So it's just an annual tradition we have to get used to.

It will never have the cache of St Patricks day :hee:

But Happy St Georges Day to all the English TiBBErs

It's a bit daft that St George is the only Patron Saint of the UK not to have a Bank Holiday.

I just googled it and St David's Day isn't a bank holiday in Wales either. Scotland and Northern Ireland do for their patron Saints Day (and obviously the republic of Ireland for St Patricks day but we aren't part of the UK)

You both need a days holiday to recover from the amounts of alcohol you intake the day before.

Sir Softee made this cringe video for St George's day, and used images from parts of Scotland :joker:

Don't worry we get that on St Patrick's day too, he was Welsh yes yes we know, there is no requirement for the patron saint of a country to be from that country, this isn't the US Presidential Election :fist:

Anyway Happy Georges Day English folk

I can't remember if it was here or on another forum I said this, but I really wouldn't kind St Edmund being reinstated as our Patron Saint.

He lived in England, was a king (of East Anglia), and isn't remembered for the possibly-fictional slaying of a mythical beast :joker:

Although some psychos would probably think replacing George for an Englishman would be "racist"
