WILL BEST: "Diverse group of real, normal people"

During a chat on HEART RADIO, Will Best has said:

"It's going to be a diverse group of real, normal people, and that is what makes Big Brother so good. You know when you think back to the iconic moments that we've seen over the years, obviously Celebrity Big Brother gave us some great stuff but a lot of those moments are from real people, you know?"

Also comments on a "new house" being built but does not know location...

I don't care what that means, as long as they're just ordinary people who went through the audition process and not through talent agencies and aren't Love island wannabes

Nicky91 25-04-2023 01:55 PM

mentioning the word ''real'' two times hmmmmm

we'll see

but tbh i hope for you guys, the castings are as good as here with ours

although we here last year even had a 60+ who considered herself an influencer, and thx to BB she now is more famous, on youtube with her vlogs like ''Cooking with Kitty'' :laugh:

The last C5 series they were too "normal" though. It was like they just visited a few northern council estates and asked who would be interested in going on tv.

Does it matter? BB6+7 were probably the most diverse, and they were among the best.

As long as there weren't quotas or box-ticking, as long as it was organic and the most interesting people were cast regardless of surface level traits ... who cares?

Better than the likes of BB15, just full of wannabes.

Cherie 25-04-2023 05:42 PM

Diverse doesn’t just mean black people ......:facepalm:

Basically it could be like Ch4 BB where everyone didn't have to be from the South of England.

or diverse backgrounds or diverse religions or diverse sexuality or diverse countries, it could literally mean anything :laugh:

Id imagine the viewers actually want representative rather than some millennial producer's virtual signaling fantasy

Which for BB is not actually a bad thing, it's one of only a handful of Shows that I can think of that suits the forced diversity quotas imo.

As long as the fanbase and production doesn't basically turn it into what BBUSA's done where white people, Hispanics, and Asian contestants were heavily disadvantaged and hated on because they weren't black, then all shall be good in that particular area imo.

And to anyone that tries to tell me that The Cookout and Taylor had fair and legitimate wins I will honestly laugh, I have seen black contestants win Reality TV Shows fair and square before, but those two really weren't fair by any real metric imo.

GoldHeart 27-04-2023 12:29 AM

The best thing BB can do regarding the 'diverse' thing is by having a huge range in age groups and all from very ordinary backgrounds and no instagram model wannabes, the last one back in 2018 didn't have anyone over 32 did it?? :facepalm:.

Why don't they throw in a few 40+ and a few over 50's and even the odd 60 something year old . I'm so fed up of a overflow of 20 year olds :rolleyes:. But i have a feeling the majority of the contestants will be in their 20's as per usual which i honestly find boring :notimpressed:.

In fact we should all guess the type of contestants they'll put in.

* 3 gay people
* 2 bisexual
* 1 trans
* 1 non binary
* 2 black
*1 Mixed race
*2 Asian
* 1 Hispanic
* 1 posh conservative
* 1 vegan cat owner
* 1 loud American
* Someone with a disability

If i'm right or even close to it then i'll toast a glass to my psychic powers .

arista 27-04-2023 12:41 AM

More Posh Conservatives is a Good one

1 EDL member, or sympathies with the EDL ideology
1 Incel
1 Muslim
2 Scottish contestants
1 Transwoman
1 hardcore Feminist
1 Welsh contestant
2 gay contestants
1 Lesbian
3 black contestants
1 hardcore Vegan
1 hardcore Carnivore
