Will Best teases changes to BBUK

New Big Brother host Will Best teases huge change to reality show ahead of ITV reboot

BIG Brother host Will Best has teased a huge change to the reality show ahead of its reboot later this year.

The presenter, 38, was recently announced as the show's brand new co-host alongside AJ Odudu, 35.

Big Brother is moving to a new home at ITV, having originally aired on Channel 4 and then Channel 5.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online in his first interview since landing the gig, Will has teased a big change to the format.

He's revealed the brand new housemates and show will look different to the latter series on Channel 5.

Will said: "It’s going back to being real people."

The former T4 presenter continued: "The great thing about Big Brother is it’s entertainment, but entertainment with a bit of everything thrown in.

"The focus of this is it’s going to be an entertainment show, but it’s going to be fun and funny with all of that emotion and realness that you get with Big Brother."

Casting for the next batch of housemates is still underway with the deadline currently set for the end of June.

Speaking about Channel 5's version of the reality juggernaut, which last aired five years ago, Will said: "Times change, it was the right show for the time I think.

"But now I think it’s time for the reality people want to see, which is real people being authentic and that’s where the fun comes."

The Sun previously revealed how the show's reboot was thrown into chaos and production pushed back from Spring to Autumn.

With bosses said to be scrambling to find a new home for Big Brother, the hosts are being kept in the dark.

“I don’t know anything else it’s all still being planned, people can still enter [to be a housemate]," Will said.

The Sun were the first to exclusively reveal how Will and AJ, who are best pals, had been picked by ITV to host the reboot.

A source said: “AJ has known since last year the Big Brother job was hers but she’s been waiting for her co-host to be confirmed.

“AJ and Will did a brilliant screen test together and their chemistry was brilliant. It was a no brainer. They are great friends too so to be able to work together is really exciting.

“They could not be more excited about joining forces to bring back Big Brother.

Davina McCall first presented Big Brother on Channel 4 from 2000 until 2010 before former housemate Brian Dowling took over hosting duties when it moved to Channel 5 the following year.

Side note: If taken at face value, it appears the presenters don't even know where the house will be...

BIG Brother host Will Best has teased a huge change to the reality show

no he hasnt

He's revealed the brand new housemates and show will look different to the latter series on Channel 5.

well unless it was an actual repeat that is stating the obvious

The former T4 presenter continued: "The great thing about Big Brother is it’s
entertainment, but entertainment with a bit of everything thrown in.

meaningless

Will said: "It’s going back to being real people."

Its always real people but we dont want real people cast by idiots from Love
Island and agencies

"But now I think it’s time for the reality people want to see, which is real
people being authentic and that’s where the fun comes."

Not if its a standard 2023 box ticking exercise filled with "progressive" minorities

“I don’t know anything else it’s all still being planned" Will said.

YOu dont know anything m8 and why would you?

Got a feeling that I ain't even gonna watch this. Maybe I will when the forum is full up with chat of it? But at this precise moment, it's a dead duck that's had it's time and we've moved on from this fad of our times.

It never aged well when it was continuous, so after a long break, I cant see it working.

There will be a load of folks watching the launch, from old fans to see if they've messed things up even more than C5 did to new viewers who watch other reality shows on ITV2.

They can't please everyone but can they make the show addictive viewing for a sizeable audience like it was in the golden era.

I think one of the interesting dynamics will be how will a group of people from 2023 cope with a prolonged period devoid of social media?

Will was featured on 6 Degree's podcast with Jamie Laing and Spencer Matthews, from 35:48 talking about BB

Reiterating the route of "real people", specifically people "without blue ticks".

He comes across really passionate about the show which is great.

I actually really like him. He seems to get the authentic Big Brother we’ve been longing for

4 posts above. Will Best said it.

The one thing he has got wrong is that Channel 5's version of BB doesn't work in any era, hence the 3 million drop in ratings from BB12's first episode to BB12's finale.

I hope that ITV can do a good job.

I hope so too. The only C5 seasons that worked in some sense were BB14 and BB19.
