I'm moving the site to a new server.

It will be offline overnight while I finalise the move.

Scary times …

I vaguely recall a very highly respected reptile forum swapped servers a few years ago and all the files went missing and the forum basically disappeared WITHOUT TRACE overnight ..

Apparently the owner hadn’t backup up any files ..

I've pretty much got it up a running on the other server already.

Will just need to transfer across the latest version of all the forum posts, and do a few other things.

Go into User CP - Edit Email & Password and change your e-mail address to one you can use.

I know mine, I was highlighting an issue there may be for current users who dont know their log in details and also may not be online in time to see the message about a new server.

So if they have to log in again, but dont know their details, they also wont be able to log in the new server to change their details.


Perhaps an email msg should be sent to all members :shrug:
