I’ll just go for Rihanna. I know Beyoncé has serious bangers and is great to settle into on a quiet Saturday afternoon while you’re eating McDonald’s, or even at a concert (obviously), and probably has a broader range of musical versatility but Rihanna’s songs resonate with me more on a more emotional level. I’m not saying she’s more talented but I’m more likely to have hits from Rihanna on my iMusic or Spotify than Beyoncé but they’re both fantastic in their own ways anyway.

Why’s that? What gives, exactly?

Beyonce I think is more vocally talented.

But I personally have really liked more Rihanna songs, so my vote goes to Rihanna.

I'd be hard pushed to make a top 5 Beyonce songs, but RiRi has so many I love. So Rihanna for me.

I read somewhere that Rihanna was dating high profile rapper / producer Jay z and everything was going smoothly until Rita Ora turned up one day to do track .. and he promptly dumped Rihanna .. they are supposedly mortal enemies ..

Beyoncé’s obviously more talented but there are more RiRi songs that pack a mellow punch to me so in terms of personal preference it just had to be her. She’s obviously been preoccupied with other stuff over the last six years but I know the musical shade of Rihanna is still out there somewhere.
