Bear Grylls: UK Schools leave children ill-equipped for life
In today's Times.
And being debated 12:15pm BBC2HD Politics Live now. [Schools are leaving children ill-equipped for the “real battles of life” while much of modern education is “boring”, according to Bear Grylls, the television adventurer who is also the UK's chief scout.] 12 hours ago Yes its sad. |
I don't disagree, but I don't think they need to be pissing about the wilderness eating squirrel **** and sharpening sticks or whatever either. They could do with more practical life skills sessions (money management, credit etc.) and less arbitrary classes. It's nt that any one class is "useless" - it's that they dedicate hours and hours every week to classes that are only relevant to the kids who want to study that thing or are interested.
