Martin Lewis deepfake scam
|
It's a bit like email phishing scams though I guess. I mean ... it's so obviously fake ... but people who aren't aware that deepfake technology exists (often older people) and people who are just a bit gullible will still fall for it the same as "classic" email phishing. Like I do know a guy who fell for an HMRC scam that came from "refunds.hmrc@hotmail.com" or something like that.
Rule of thumb though is assess the content of what you're hearing and not the source/claimed source. If it sounds like BS... it's probably BS, whether it has an uncanny rubbery faced Martin Lewis on the cover or not. |
Yes he was talking about this Early
on GMBHD itv He said he used to go into a building alot (I assume BBC Central London for Radio5) he met a Security Guard going in, he thanked Martin for the Cash he is making Showed Martin a Photo of him on a Site on his phone. Martin told him it is Scam he never does adverts. It took Martin 10mins to convince that happy Security Guard they are Criminals taking his money. Sign Of The Times |

Because he does a Regular Interview ITV from his home office. It was good that helped that stupid security guard who thought Martins face on a Trading Bitcoin (looking) site was how to make thousands.................................... You make a Fair Point. This why is GMBHD itv is worth having on with subtitles when a good story is on rewind and watch it. |
