when she called the emergency services and spoke so lucidly having just experienced what she did .... that was incredible. I thought the operator did an amazing job getting information from her, probably thinking this may be all the information they were going to get

Spoiler:

Following the attack, Nancy endured several facial reconstructions and surgeries, which included getting a prosthetic eye. However, she was determined to keep on living, and a 2018 report mentioned that she still loved singing in the church choir and was working in a law firm as a legal assistant. At present, Nancy still resides in Carrollton, Texas, although she has since remarried and has built up a wonderful life surrounded by her loved ones. We are also happy to report that Nancy shares an excellent bond with her daughters and grandchildren, and we wish her the best for the years to come.

I mean if you are going to shoot someone dead you shoot them like 6 times in the head, not once

I guess if you shoot someone through the eye 9/10 times they'll be dead especially since she fell unconscious as well straight away

Nope you need to ensure they are dead if that is the purpose of your task

blast open the skull completely

That said if you pay morons to do a task then expect a failed outcome

The main issue was hiring brain dead crims - i think the husband thought criminals are like in films, ruthless pro's and not thick, conniving, inbreds who can never, ever be trusted

bots 20-07-2023 05:03 PM

one of the guys involved was a meth head, they are not known for their reliability

I am glad the lady's faith has kept her sane and in control

and probably alive

bots 20-07-2023 05:39 PM

it's an interesting take on things, by forgiving him, she takes back control and doesn't fester in bitterness

I don't think i could do that

Small-caliber gunshots to the head are non-fatal more often than you'd think really - though they often come with brain damage of one form or another obviously.

Really horrible situation in the US with people trying to unalive themselves with handguns only to not only fail to die, but actually wake up in hospital with a severe disability.

A shotgun on the other hand, will take someone's entire head off. So not much margin for error there.
