Will do the Tories a favour.

£12:50 will be charged on every Journey
in 4 weeks time. In the Outer Zone on London. A vote loser from many tradesmen like a Landscape Gardner working hard, but has no funds at all to change his van. Ref: Ch5HDnews Live |

Starmer should get off the fence on lots of things.
Just say what he means and mean what he says. Stop being worried of the reactions of hard-line Cons and most of the ever reducing influence of the media as to so called news publications. I don't live in or around London but the people I do know of there say within the city, ULEZ is popular in the main. As it was when Johnson as Mayor began it. It's the outlying areas who don't mind it being enforced in the city but not in their backyards. So overall across London it appears to be more welcomed than not in the city. The panic over Uxbridge not falling to Labour is ridiculous. Had they not taken Selby or done well in Selby, Uxbridge would have meant more. Uxbridge however didn't even fall to Labour in either of Blair's two landslide wins in 1997 and 2001. Didn't come anywhere near within 500 votes of doing so. I've no time for Khan and think he should be looking again at what assistance can be given to help much more those who need to upgrade vehicles. It is Khan's as the London Mayor's decision to make. It's not Starmer's but Starmer nerds to give his opinion, not say it just needs looking at or some other fudging statement. Plus since it is a Labour Mayor in place, then Starmer must realise people won't accept he cannot influence and influence strongly too. |
ULEZ itself is not a vote winning/losing argument except in very local conditions so there is really no point in Starmer getting involved. The bigger argument is on how fast and hard we go down the green path and that could end up winning/losing an election

The problem re Starmer with me is how little he'll even say what his view on some things are never mind what real policy he wants and/or intends as to some major issues. I totally get from him nothing can be done by him and Labour or changed unless they win power. I get that. I get too, the situation he'll find himself in is full of far more uncertainties than for any new government likely before. However, he must at least have a view on issues. Yet I'm hearing more and more from those who do intend to vote Labour mainly to now get this shambles out of government. Yet, they are more and more confused as to what Starmer really stands for or even what he himself believes in. He may well deliver once in government. I'd hope he does His manifesto for the election after this one could possibly be a really strong and good one. He just should still now share his real vision and hopes more so others can picture the likely benefits or lack of them for themselves. Just relying on taking power because the Cons are now seen as a shambolic mess and unfit to govern presently . Isn't really the best desirable base to build from. ULEZ is one of many issues he just kind of sidesteps on. That's not a positive at all. |
But in the Next
Mayor Election 2nd of May 2024 Conservative Susan Hall can take over by stopping ULEZ (£12:50 charge) on day one. |
Some in the Media, are saying
if Labour lose loads of London seats it can effect his (Sir Keir Starmer) general election. |
I actually think unfortunately Khan will likely scrape a 3rd term.
Despite ULEZ. Especially if the Mayoral election is before the general election. Which it is near certainly to be so. |
Some people can not afford £12:50,
for a single Journey in that zone. |

It is a big test. The General Election, we still need a Date for Next Year. |
