Favourite actors and their roles

I loved watching Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry Vlll in The Tudors as he was so enigmatic and believable in that role ..

I felt the same watching Travis Fimmel as Ragnar in Vikings and Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby and Michael Kenneth Williams as Omar in The Wire

Those four portrayals stand out for me in recent years

Definitely Cillian as Thomas Shelby. Bryan Cranston as Walter White in Breaking Bad

Brenda Blethyn in "Secrets and lies" That performance will touch you.

If you've never seen "Secrets and lies" then I highly recommend it. It's a British film. You will laugh and cry.

Blethyn won the Golden globe, Bafta and at Cannes for her performance and lost out on the Oscar to Francis McDormand as Margie in Fargo, which is a legendary performance to lose to, but for me Blethyn out performed her.

Fave Male Actor

i have a top 5 of those

1. Sam Neill as Dr Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park/World franchise
2. Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones franchise
3. Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones
4. William Shatner as James T Kirk in Star Trek franchise
5. Shia Leboeuf as Sam Witwicky in Transformers franchise

------------------
Fave female actresses

1. Meryl Streep (literally any role she plays) she is the GOAT
2. Kate Mulgrew as Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek Prodigy
3. Vanessa Lee Chester as Kelly Malcolm in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (controversial one here but her gymnastic skills against a raptor is one of my faves in the jurassic park films, that was a good role of hers)
4. Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer in Supergirl (first trans superhero, sorry if i come across as woke, but yeah it was a cool superhero character, and she looks so pretty too, you wouldn't know she is trans if you didn't know any better)
5. Kate Winslet in Titanic as Rose, and in the Divergent films, also a good role of her in that as
Spoiler:

one of the antagonists

James Gandolfini - Tony Soprano - The Sopranos
Edie Falco - Carmela Soprano - The Sopranos
Dominic West - Jimmy McNulty - The Wire
Neil Patrick Harris - Barney Stinson - How I Met Your Mother
Sarah Michelle Gellar - Buffy Summers - Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Alec Guiness (You may know him as the original Obi one kenobi) in "Bridge on the river Kwai" a masterclass performance from one of the greatest actors ever.

Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes in Misery was a superb performance. I could watch all the Nightmare on Elm Street films, all the crappy Friday the 13th films and not be scared as a kid. But the Annie Wilkes character terrified me.

Too many to list. But I will just say, Tom Hardy is fine in every way.
