[The move means there will be a by-election
in his constituency of Tamworth, in Staffordshire,

Mr Pincher - who resigned from Boris Johnson's
government over the allegations
last summer - did not appeal against
the breach, but argued to the
Independent Expert Panel (IEP) that
the punishment was disproportionate.]

That would be a Laugh

Festus Akinbusoye - Conservative
is a unknown fella
he was on Newsnight for a few mins

Tamworth will be a hard one.

IF Labour win it it will be an absolutely amazing result.
However they do need to get very close to winning it.

Tamworth has moved much further away from Labour for several elections now.

Dorries seat could go to either LibDems or Labour.
I'd bet more LibDem likely if it does in fact fall however.

They wil be interesting by-elections .

Yes, low turnouts as usual now in by-elections.
However they are wins.
Had the Cons held these seats even narrowly on the low turnouts.
The headlines would be, even on a low turnout Cons ward off Labour challenges likely.

Now it's being said, if Reform hadn't stood then the Cons would have won.

Nonsense, that's an assumption that every vote that went to Reform , that all went out still to vote at all but every vote then going to the Cons.

These by- elections are confirming and more, the current national polling.
That's virtually all that can be drawn from them.

A horrendous pair of results for the Cons.
Horrendous.

apparently Tamworth was the second biggest swing to Labour in byelection history. That's quite something.

And Nadine Dorries is probably getting on with her day as per usual, no change at all there

Hi fruit_cake.
You are right on both points.

I think Nadine Dorries has already said,if the Cons lost her former seat, that the blame would be laid at her door not Sunak's.:joker:

I don't think we've heard the last from her at all.:joker:
She seems to have a few grievances that keep bugging her.

arista 20-10-2023 09:21 AM

Yes Joey
many Conservatives stayed at home.

Could that be the General Election
was asked on SkyNewsHD Live?
Last night

LibDems joined the Greens getting a Pathetic 417
in Tamworth.

For sure.
Nadine,

and Pincher
both rotten apples

joeysteele 20-10-2023 10:13 AM

I really am fed up of Greg Hands on about low turnouts

There's ALWAYS much lower turnouts at by-elections.
Plus this mid term tripe too.
This lot are nearing the completion of a 5 year term from 2019.
On top of being in power for 13 and a half years.

In 2021, when under Johnson the Cons GAINED Hartlepool on an only 42% turnout.
It was hailed as miraculous by Cons and their supporters.

It is extremely rare for whatever circumstances, that really rock solid seeming safe seats are lost in by-elections.
To now have lost so many in only a matter of months is unprecedented.

These 2 by- elections were horrendous for the Cons.
If they continue with their shocking rhetoric, hard-line, heartless and incompetent actions, I hope these results will in the next election, when they DARE to hold it, reflect that these recent by- elections were more the norm than arrogantly trying to dismiss them as they are trying to today.

Liam- 20-10-2023 10:16 AM

Didn’t expect Labour to do the double, thought the cons would have narrowly held Midbeds, the overturning of two massive majorities like this shows that the country is hungry for what Sunak is terrified of, a general election called asap

arista 20-10-2023 02:20 PM

It was Reform Party
that halted the Conservative wins

Take out the Reform votes
Conservative would have won.

Voters finally starting to trust Labour again. Starmer's response to the attack on Israel has played a big part in that
