Gina Miller claims 73% want to Rejoin the EU
|
course they do because alot of the people who did not vote in the original ref would vote now and vote to remain

Thats their fault |

i actually think that the numbers will be almost identical to the time of the vote. Many people who voted remain, accept the situation for what it is and have moved on. They wouldn't vote now to rejoin

The referendum was a full 7 years ago... there are millions of people eligible to vote now who were as young as 11 (lol) when the vote took place. There are further millions who voted in 2016 who have now died. Voting leave skewed older, meaning those young voters would likely have voted to be in the EU and those older ones more likely to vote to not be in the EU. (Note that I have said "more likely" to both, not "all", before some thicko or other who doesn't understand statistics starts spaffing off).
That combined with the fact that voting intention is unlikely to have changed in those who did originally vote remain, and slightly more likely to have changed for those who voted leave (due to unkept promises), and I think a shift back over the 50% line is all but inevitable. Maybe not quite as much as 73% but I'd say a conservative 55% - 60% pro-EU membership would be likely. It's not all THAT relevant though... politics can be slow, and there's not much that can be done about that. It's one of the reasons that referendums are sort of a **** idea in general. |

On top of that you have the people it's more relevant to. A 23 year old in 2016 didn't necessarily give a hoot about these things. For that same person now entering their 30's it's a very different story. Again as a disclaimer: Yes I'm aware that SOME of those opinions will have shifted the other way. |
I think it's very simplistic to say 75% want to rejoin. The vote was won by false messaging first time round, it would be 100 times worse if it were to be held again.
I dont think there is any realistic possibility of rejoining the EU in the next 20-30 years, but i do think we will join by the back door through tighter integration over time. People forget, but thats how we ended up knee deep in it before. It was done by stealth and without a public vote. That will repeat again, of that i am certain |

EU doesn't want you guys to re-join, and can still say No, Not Gonna Happen
they are more working on memberships for Serbia, Bulgaria and eventually also Ukraine |

For example, we bought a generator from amazon last year, buying from amazon is fine because they include all charges and delivery, it blew up a few months in but was still within the warranty but we had to arrange sending it back ourselves, we ended up having to use a Northern Irish Courier who collected it from the here and drove it into NI to ship it back to England so we wouldn't be re-charged all that Customs Duty etc -even though we'd already paid duty on it and were sending it back for repair/replacement!- it's crazy they don't have any kind of system for that at all stuff you've already bought and paid for |
the UK was the 3rd biggest net contributor to the EU, so of course the EU want them back in
People are really not getting it. There won't be another vote, the government will never allow the population to decide something like that again. Thats why everything will be done by the back door. Slowly but surely, we will integrate back into the EU without actually "joining". You cant vote to leave something you haven't joined |
