Liz Truss stages a comeback
In her most significant intervention since resigning, the former PM was characteristically unrepentant, pointing the finger at "left-wing institutions" and the "anti-woke brigade".
She did admit acting too fast, however, delivering another pork analogy for the ages: "I didn't just try to fatten the pig on market day, I tried to rear the pig and slaughter it". Politics latest: Truss says getting rid of Boris Johnson was 'mistake' Overall, though, this was a defiant eulogy for the high-growth, brighter future Britain could have had. Nodding along in the audience, Lord Frost and Nigel Farage. Publicly - and privately - there are many in the Conservative Party who think the pendulum has swung too far under Rishi Sunak, and want a more coherent plan for growth. The messenger may be questionable, but her message itself will resonate with some. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknew...ng/ar-AA1gTrJH |
Can't believe the woman gets to nominate an honours list....:umm2:
|
She mentioned her book coming out in April 24 three times during her speech :skull:
|
Good grief, she was as deluded and awful as she was last year.
She would be better advised to stand down as an MP. |
If there’s anybody that shouldn’t be allowed to speak about how the country should be ran, it’s the 1 month disaster of a Prime Minister
|
It shows the type of person she is. Most people who have been humiliated to the extent she had would disappear out of the public eye.

The Tories are like Man Utd.
"It's the leader/Manager's fault as to why we can't do our jobs that we're paid handsomely to do, properly." Seriously the Tories need to just admit that they are genuinely incompetent, and not just palming all of the issues onto whoever the PM is at any given time. And I never thought that I would defend "I've never had a working class friend" Sunak, but the issues with this party were there before him, and they'll be there after him unless the party bothers to fix their problems. |
And is anybody going to read Liz Truss's Book?
Not meaning to be rude, but there's not really much that she did during her one month in charge. |
