The joy of dogs and the work they do
 

This is a thread im creating partially for Redway really, as he seems to have a problem with me being a dog lover.

I wanna be clear, i understand people not wanting to own dogs, i understand some people who don't have much time for dogs. That's perfectly reasonable. Im not slamming people for that at all. I do wonder why people might hate dogs though when -

They are excellent, loving and loyal human companions.

As guard dogs they protect you, your children and property with their lives.

Dogs for the blind, need i say more?

Dogs who help catch criminals

Dogs who sniff out bombs during wars

Dogs who help sniff out people trapped after natural disasters. Like the dogs, who find dead bodies for the families, and also those trapped and who's lives are saved by the dogs finding them, who would otherwise die.

So yeah, i love dogs. Im sorry you have a problem with that Redway, but they are wonderful animals. The term "man's best friend" is there for a reason.

We love our dogs and would never be without one or two, they bring us all so much joy.Ilove all animals but dogs are just our friends,give me dogs over some humans.

I adopted a cat that no one wanted a year ago, deaf, pure white, one green eye, one blue. I love her so much. She's an indoor cat. Full of love and very cheeky. She greets me like a dog would when i got home from work :laugh:

I don’t have an issue with you being a dog person. I have a huge issue with your attention-seeking, fanatical attitude and you going on to accusing me of the most absurd things and getting 9 from 2 (and you still haven’t figured out how that really doesn’t work for me) just because I don’t like dogs in the way that you do. Some people are cat people, some are dog people. Some people don’t like either but would rather get a gerbil, a parrot or some fish. Some prefer to just admire animals from a distance. Not fussed about people being into dogs. The problem is you.

There are 8 billion people in this world. Not everyone loves or likes the same things in exactly the same way and no-one owes your apparently pathologically entitled self mutual liking of your favourite animals. Get over it. You do your thing and love what you love in your corner and I’ll do the same. I am not getting a ban for having a normal human reaction to a dog fanaticist bringing my name up from thread to thread because he can’t understand someone having different preferences to himself.

You can keep pushing this weird non-issue if you want something to argue about but I’m checking out so you’d be wasting your time and arguing with yourself. I’m not going to tell you to keep my name out of your mouth but I’m not getting any more involved in your ridiculousness than you’ve already dragged me into. I’ve said what I wanted to say and as far as I’m concerned that’s the end of it now.

I have a German Shepherd and a cat. The dog's intelligent, large, well trained... and is totally bossed by the cat.

Redway, you made this a thing originally by saying to me "you seem to care about animal cruelty more than you do racism" which i told you was a ridiculous comparison. Im still absolutely baffled by it.

But yeah, if you wanna compare the two, that's fine. Weird, but you do you.
