Doctor Who: 60th Anniversary

Starting a new thread about Doctor Who and it's upcoming 60th anniversary! just wanted to get people's opinions on the brand new trailer that was released on Saturday? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEkC6InjWQ8 and who else is excited for it?

Crimson Dynamo 25-09-2023 02:26 PM

absolute woke garbage

bots 25-09-2023 03:56 PM

there is hope it will be better with the new production team

Glenn. 25-09-2023 04:04 PM

Looks spectacular. Can’t wait to see it!

Oliver_W 25-09-2023 04:19 PM

The trailer looks sooo good!

Makes me want Tennant and Tate to stay for at least a couple of years!!

I'm really excited for this, I wasn't a big fan of most of Chibnall's era, but enjoyed Power of the Doctor, glad RTD is back now

Livia 11-10-2023 01:13 PM

I was a massive Doctor Who fan. Sadly I've watched it deteriorate into a didactic, preachy mess. I hope Russell T Davis can make it watchable again.

60yrs worth of episodes are being put on iPlayer on November 1st. And the old confidential episodes too.

Ncuti Who is falling under a new series numbering scheme, starting from "Series 14" it will be "Season One" instead. It's intended to be as much a jumping on point as Rose was

Zizu 01-11-2023 12:10 PM

I haven’t watched this since they got rid of the original Doctor

Did you catch Newsnight BBC2HD last night

Debated the Politics of Doctor Who

One Lady in the 1980's Dr.Who
was based on Thatcher.

The even played an old newsnight
from that time with the director/writer

Last 20mins of the show

Yeah but I’m autistic and I simply couldn’t get my head around why they would change the doctor . It lost all of its appeal at that moment - shame as I was addicted to the program up till then

I understood it a was an actor but changing the doctor was just a step too far for my limited imagination ..

i thought you were a fan of David Tennant?

Catherine Tate also returning (top actress) same as Jemma Redgrave, also Miriam Margoyles :flutter:

a posthumous returning role from Bernard Cribbins (whom died in July 2022, 2 months after filming was done)

Neil Patrick Harris as one of the villains

Ray. 01-11-2023 06:25 PM

I think Moffat, Chibnall and now RTD (with his recasting Tennant as the 14th Doctor) have all made an irreparable mess of this show.

That's understandable, I can understand that, especially since until Hartnell regenerated, the show didn't change too much

I think now that they have "the good" production team back, it should return to being watchable again. The last few years have been painful to the point i gave up on it

I'd advise caution as in my opinion from watching his other projects, RTD has become increasingly arrogant and self-indulgent since the good ol' Tennant-Doctor says. I sincerely hope that I'm wrong.
