Sainsburys now the most expensive supermarket for weekly shop

Sainsburys now more expensive than Waitrose for ‘the big shop’, Which? claims

Price analysis of a trolley of 131 items at Asda, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury’s,
Tesco and Waitrose found Sainsbury’s was almost £4 more expensive than
Waitrose in September.

It is the first time Sainsbury’s has scored as the most expensive in a mystery
shopping survey carried out each month by consumer group Which?.

https://www.thestar.co.uk/webimg/b25...enable=upscale

Sainsbury’s (£359.23). Asda was found to have the cheapest trolley at £325.71

Our latest research shows that once again Aldi is the cheapest supermarket

robbing Sainso bastards

Waitrose own brand is excellent and their voucher scheme saves like £2 a shop

I shop in Sainsbury's, what a piss take. Im no snob, and i know people rave about them, but i find Aldi and Lidl to be really poor quality, i just think their stuff tastes crap compared to Sainsbury's. Not really a fan of Asda, and Tesco's is meh.

Yes. If it happens again i'll be demanding to speak with the manager :fist: :smug:

Iceland is expensive but it's cheaper than Sainsburys.

Iceland mash was £1.00 last year. Then went up to £1.20 in April and £1.40 in July.

Now it's £1.30. Still cheaper than Morrisons.

I just go to my local co op.

Gusto Brunt 06-10-2023 04:50 PM

The Co-Op is expensive where I live. A boxd of waffles £3.20 and in Iceland £1.60.

But it's just round the street corner. Nice mini one with fresh veg and fruit. Plenty deals. 4 self checkout stations, and some really really slow till people. Especially Kenny, or cooperman as hes called cause hes a massive rangers fan..Berwick rangers.

If you've ever read irvine welsh, one of his characters was called Jonty, he was married to jinty..a bit slow both of them...kenny talks exactly the same way as Jonty..

Aye aye aye aye sir
..
£2, 20 and a 2 and a 1 £2.23...cheers cheers cheers. Aye.

Sainsburys have some amazing offers on at any given time.
As do Tesco.
Sainsburys fresh food is better quality, with Tesco and Ocado coming up next.
Morrisons and Asda are dire.
We love Aldi for loads of stuff as well.

I went to a sainsbury's today in York. And I paid 8 and half quid (sounds like a Fellini film) for a quater bottle of Bells. Highway robbery. I used to be able to get a half bottle for that price.

Still. As I made made my way home from York. Stopping off at Pocklington, Market Weighton and Beverley on the way hone. I was pissed as a mutha ****er. And that's what it's all about

MTVN 06-10-2023 06:26 PM

I like Sainsburys but it is pricey and they're trying to copy Tesco now with all their clubcard equivalent offers. I resent having to have the Tesco clubcard as it is never mind having to get the equivalent for every single supermarket. Morrisons going that way as well but it's not as prevalent yet

bots 06-10-2023 06:27 PM

they are all pretty expensive after the last 18 months or so, there is no real way to avoid that

There was a big queue in Lild as well.
But I prefer to wait and scan the stuff myself.

Dogeatdog 06-10-2023 09:23 PM

I normally use Asda or Morrisons as they’re closer to me. I also use Farmfoods or Icelands from time to time.

Asda is near my workplace, so sometimes I go. They even have a McDonald's.

Swan 06-10-2023 09:26 PM

Argos being inside Sainsbury's is handy too.

Yes, I'd rather do it myself. It's quicker.

I would believe that in my local co op.

But at lie dels, ain't the packaging usually all twisted, making it harder to scan for the people in a hurry?
