What I miss with tasks…
 

…is the housemates choosing who does what rather than BB assigning the roles.

Yeah feel it's manipulation and designed to save certain housemates from the nomination process

I miss that. Or the "would one hm come to the Diary Room", that was also okay.

We can only guess at BB's reasoning, they're never going to explain it. We also don't get to see hms fighting over the roles or getting hurt or suspicious about why someone suggested a specific person. Or berating themselves for not going to the Diary Room

…yeah, I did like that aspect that when a housemate ‘answered the call..’…they had no knowledge of whether it would be naughty or nice that awaited them…in the early days it would often be a literal race to the door, all scrambling to get there first…like a parent race on a school sports day…then as it went along, there wasn’t that enthusiasm and it was more a vibe of…you go, no you…no, I won’t go and you can’t make me…

I actually prefer that their roles are picked for them, I just know people would be manipulating others to get easier jobs and such, the housemates who are less assertive would then end up with the crappy roles.

I liked when it’s random. Like when Science pulled the sword to be the pirate captain.
