What is your point? Curious to know what his parents did for a living.

Costa Rico is famed for it's bio diversity. It could easily have been the destination for a school trip

Benjamin 24-10-2023 09:30 AM

I don’t get what the issue is?

Northern Monkey 24-10-2023 09:37 AM

We didn’t even get a trip to Costa Coffee at my school, nevermind Costa-bleeding-Rica

You can’t knock someone for where they go on a school trip.
Or where and how they are educated either.

I do agree ... but anyone is fair game for fun-making, and for any reason.

No one is fair game for unkind remarks imo ,Henrys parents have probably worked hard to give him things they never had. Is he considered posh because he has been educated, speaks well and likes the finer things in life ?

I doubt Henry chose the destination for school trips, or that he paid for the whole thing. It's not the pupils who choose the trips.

The fact he had that opportunity (and I don't blame him for taking it) says more about his parents than Henry

…it could say something about Henry as well, in that it would probably depend how the trip funding was organised and devised in his particular school for the more expensive/residential trips…in our local school and even from and in primary level…?…there will be a target portion that a pupil would be asked to contribute themselves from fundraising etc and then apportioned and divided between a chosen charity and contributing to their target until it’s reached…so that’s also does enhance and help character build…and that might have been Henry’s experience with his school visit to Costa bleeding rica, I don’t know…

Zizu 24-10-2023 03:57 PM

I think it’s telling that Henry even revealed this information.

If he was playing the game this is the kind of thing he’d keep under wraps

It shows he’s simply being his wonderful self

we went on the paddle steamer up Loch Lomond. We had a cheese sandwich,
bag of plain crisps, a carton of orange juice and a chocolate digestive biscuit in
our school packed lunch

Public school kid here left 12 years ago we went to spain for a week in year 7 and a cruise for a week in year 11 Yeah our parents had to pay for it ourselves but it was heavily discounted, Maybe we was lucky but I dont think him going to costa rica has anything to do with anything infact

Niamh. 24-10-2023 05:50 PM

Luke went Skiing in Italy for a week, he went to just a normal school (we had to pay the full thing ourselves)

When I was at school they had an annual trip to Switzerland, but I didn't get selected in the ballot.

I was a bit gutted.
