No ex-housemates on Late & Live?
 

Hiiii everyone! Some of you may remember me as iRyan from the C5 days but I couldn't access my old account bc I forgot my password and it was registered with an old email. If a mod sees this and can help me regain access that would be fab, BUT ANYWAYS....

Is anyone else really disappointed and annoyed by the fact that there has been no ex-housemates on the panel of Late & Late other than Kate Lawler? It feels like a real slap in the face to the legacy of the show. There are countless ex-housemates who would be thrilled to do it yet they bring back the same "celebs" who are clearly only there for a quick paycheck.

For example, Kathreya and Cameron (our reigning winner!) have been spotted in the audience and they weren't even given a brief opportunity to speak. It feels rude and insulting. Pay them some damn respect! Bit On The Side used to do a great job of bringing back random ex-housemates for commentary and it was always such a joy to see them.

I think they want to break with the past, certainly the C5 era, so i'm not really surprised

…hey, Ryan…:love:..I absolutely do remember you and lovely to see you still a fan of BB…yeah, I don’t know it there was any thought to it…but although, they talked about this new look series, having the spirit of the past, as it were…they’ll also want to do it their way so maybe past housemates from other channel series isn’t what they want to have…

I could definitely see that, but the odd part is that the pre-show was almost majority C5 era CBB clips. So it doesn't make sense...

It's a good point, I've only seen L&L a handful of times and it's okay but it would be interesting to get insight from ex housemates who can relate to what they're going through

Yeah, I think it definitely makes sense that they want to establish a new identity without being tied too closely to the past. But I also feel like they're underestimating the power of nostalgia. Not only for the older millennial fans, but Get Z as well has a fascination with 2000s culture and the era that we grew up in.

As someone who now works in the industry though, I know the network big wigs have the final say and are typically arrogantly out of touch with their audiences.

It would be more interesting than some of the panel, I would watch it more if they had ex HMs , why not Josie given she is part of the ITV family or Alison...or Rylan......although he wouldnt want to do it I expect

Right? They have the unique perspective of experiencing what the current housemates are going through that no one else has. Thanks MTVN!

…I hope that you love being in the industry and that it’s a career that has met all hopes and expectations for you, Ryan….it’s funny because only a few days ago, I wasn’t really on board with the new reality tv thing/styles of ‘manipulation’ for storylines and drama etc…many seem to have that…I wanted it all to feel more organic than it has at times…but after the Halloween dramas and how it’s buzzin’ again…even though storylines are still feeling manipulated, it’s feeling more old school again …if that makes sense…the new is creating the vibe of the old, yet attracting younger audiences …(..I presume …)…so maybe the gaging of audiences is becoming just right and will be constantly tweaked and evolving…

Ex HMs would be much better than the duds BBLL has been bringing out.

Yes I agree, i don't know who most of the panel guests are most days. I also really liked Liam from BB8 as a guest, he always seemed really passionate with his opinions when he used to be on the C5 shows

The panel is dire, but it's always been dire to my memory. The best spin off show was the one done by Dermot

I'd rather ex housemates than the same 5 guests they keep regurgitating. I tend to skip it most nights now unless they tease an exclusive.

I don't mind some of the panel,but some of them I've never heard of and they seem random.

Same. I tend to only watch it after an eviction now.. but the panel is a joke.. think i’ve known maybe 3 of them through the whole series so far.. there’s so many ex HM’s and tv stars that would jump at it so i dont get all the no mark “comedians” and radio presenters

What a relief, as the most recent evictees were truly dreadful, mouthing platitudes and cliches as tiresome as the inane waffe served by Kate Lawler, whose BB victory will enter the annals of the show as a colossal injustice.
As for the mutants introduced as celebrity guests, good grief............

Between the usual panels and the hosts, L&L is unwatchable for me. I haven't watched a single episode all the way through. I think the longest I lasted through an episode was about 10-15 minutes. And it was only because I wanted to see a sneak peek or something. And I also haven't watched a single evictee interview either, though that's partly because I don't think the evictees thus far were likely to say anything that would surprise me. I feel like I knew exactly what Farida, Zak, Hallie and Kerry were going to say. There wasn't anything to be mined there.

Last night's L& L was pretty entertaining , I kept laughing :laugh: .

It feels like AJ and Will just have invited their celeb mates as guests. I don't knbow who half of them are like others have said. I would rather see ex housemates that we know and love (or love to hate).
The quality of guest seems pretty low also. Duncan from Blue was ok and Oti has been the only decent ones really.

Jordan Stephens was funny the other night . Every time i see him... i always think of this insane moment on NMTB :joker: . I've always been a Rizzlekicks fan aswell :) ... And they handled it so well, dealing with a unstable man child.

Yeah I was wondering who all these people were !!
