Is the the worst ‘us vs them’ group we’ve had?

I mean in terms of how much one group hates the other. They can barely bring themselves to talk to each other. Usually in past seasons you see the groups at least talk to each other and then bitch, this time though it’s literally just flat out hatred and rudeness.

I feel like I’m flogging a dead horse here banging on about the series length lol, but if it WAS longer then I reckon we may have seen the divide simmer a little as the series progressed.

But to answer your question, yup. It’s incredibly divided right now. Can anyone remember how severe the house divide was in BB9 between B-Block and the rest of the house?

Babayaro. 05-11-2023 05:33 PM

It was called B-Block right? Or have I just made up a ridiculous sounding name

I was going to say BB9 had quite a bitter divide too.

To be fair it’s mainly one way nastiness

10% upstairs : 90% downstairs

Even the 10% is a reaction to what they’ve had to endure for 4 weeks

Think the unusual thing with this divide is the way the housemates have embraced it. Normally it's a viewer thing making it out to be bigger than it is and in reality they all interact with each other in a civil way. Here though Jenkin and co are absolutely obsessed with 'their group' being under attack to the extent that they'll barely even talk to the others, Jenkin won't even share his birthday cake! And literally all they do is complain and bitch, there's no normal conversation there

Upstairs are in their every right to react that way, exactly to how they've been treated etc . And atleast they have fun and talk in general. Whereas downstairs just bitch and moan .

It doesn't even come close to BB13. That divide was very serious and there was pure hate from both sides. The only times they would even be in the same room was when BB called them together.

That divide was by far the worst in all 20 BBs we've had. It was very nasty, uncomfortable and got really personal between both groups. It's astonishing that there were no walkers.

This season is child's play in comparison.

I don't think the divide in 9 was that bad tbh. It peaked during spitgate, but pretty much died after Sylvia and Jennifer left.

I'm actually not sure about that, iirc Luke A said he didn't have a problem with anyone in that house and even liked Conor. I think that was an example of a divide being pushed more by viewers than housemates

CocaColin 05-11-2023 05:54 PM

It's very reminiscent of BB6.

rusticgal 05-11-2023 05:59 PM

What I find interesting is the downstairs group just seem to bitch all the time…whereas the upstairs lot hardly bitch at all….

He hated Caroline, Becky, and Luke S with a passion and would constantly bitch about them. He nominated Conor more than once and was aware of how he'd been treating Deana. He knew he was the ringleader of the Insiders and had actually wanted him to leave during the ABCD eviction.

I mean the housemates themselves even talked about there being a divide several times so even they were aware of it.

Fair enough, you have a better memory of the series than me :joker:

Why thank you, it's in my top 5 BB.

It's interesting how the drama in this series seemed pretty tame and light earlier on and in this past week it's descended into a really nasty, hateful environment.

And to think it's only a 6 week run , can you imagine if it ran for 12 weeks .

Big Brother 6 - Team Makosi vs Team Saskia. The two groups kept to two separate areas in the house.

iirc that whole Team Makosi vs Team Saskia thing didn’t last too long did it? At one point or another everyone was arguing with everyone during BB6, especially Science

Because the series ran for so long ,I think it brought out the worse in them all. And they got paranoid aswell , especially when Orlaith & Eugene were there .

Yeah it’s one of the few series were every single housemate shown themselves in a bad light at one point or another lol. I think that’s why it’s my favourite series tbh, just an absolute bastard crazy mess of a show

Not entirely true, Eugene was pure. I’m glad he got some of the prize fund.
