Why do people dislike Henry?

I’ve seen a fair few posts about how people don’t like Henry because he’s a snob, his parents are rich, he’s a Tory etc.

I honestly don’t see an issue with him about those things. I really don’t feel he is a snob. Yes, he likes some of the finer things in life, but he’s never turned his nose up at others or looks down on them.

And just because he’s parents have money, doesn’t make him a bad person. In fact I’d say he’s probably one of, if not the nicest and most genuine housemate in there this year.

He also rarely mentions politics in the house or plays up to being a Tory. (Remember when everyone thought him and Trish would clash, and they’ve done the opposite).

I’d be curious for some reasons as to why people actually dislike him which aren’t based on those factors, or is it those factors which make you dislike him? Not that’s there’s anything wrong if you don’t like him by the way, as I said, I’m just curious.

Most people like him. Even I do, just last week he made me upset.

I agree with Vanessa, I think the majority like him. I enjoy him for who he is, he's really sweet and lovable.

I do like him, but every now and then his privilege naturally comes out and it makes me realise how out of touch he is and I don’t find it funny or interesting, I would much rather the prize went to someone that actually needs or deserves it more

They are in the vast minority given he’s 9:2 favourite to win the whole damn thing

He has really come out of his shell and I love his close friendship with Jordan. These two have really kept me watching.

i think not liking him because of his parents is pretty shallow. I don't like him because he is making himself a victim and if there is one thing Henry is not, is a victim

I agree. He's making his own path in life.

Probably simply because he is a Tory , some people are that pathetic.

I made the same points the other day. We all saw him in the diary room claim these things but people say you're making assumptions.

Dogeatdog 08-11-2023 04:54 PM

I don’t dislike him but I find out of all the housemates, he is one that I find hard to connect to. He’s just not really entertaining, he’s a nice guy but if Jordan wasn’t in there he probably would’ve been out by now.

smudgie 08-11-2023 04:57 PM

He is down to earth, lovely natured, not seen any malice in him.
Money doesn’t maketh the man.
Not finding at all snobby.

vesavius 08-11-2023 05:03 PM

I don't think that anyone outside of the tiny minority of loud radical Leftists really care if he happens to vote Tory. I think most instinctively understand that Labour and the Conservatives are basically the same these days and choosing a 'team' between them is just stupid self defeating tribalism.

I quite like him because he is just generally chill and affable and has provided a nice counter balance to a lot of the drama this season.

Maybe some don't because they don't see him as deserving of the money, as he is already well off? It might be nice to see the money go to someone who would appreciate it more.

thesheriff443 08-11-2023 05:06 PM

Henry is ok but unfortunately nothing special if it wasn’t for his interaction with Jordan he wouldn’t get any screen time

I didn’t like him bringing up the cost of life crisis in the diary room, saying we all have been affected, that was something a prick of an mp would say
