The HYPERBOLE OF HATE for Trish is hilarious

Our brains don't stop developing until were 25 years old. The prefrontal cortex performs reasoning, planning, judgment, and impulse control, necessities for being an adult. Without the fully development prefrontal cortex, a person might make poor decisions and lack the inability to discern whether a situation is safe. Younger adults tend to experiment with risky behavior and don’t fully recognize the consequences of their choices.

Adolescent brains are vastly different to fully grown and developed ones. The rational part of a teen's brain isn't fully developed and behaviors experienced in late adolescence and early adulthood do not inform the way we will always think

Im certain she regrets things she's said. Like we all have. It was ill informed and stupid and immature. Get some perspective, the hyperbole of hate is ridiculous

Unfortunately it's what right wing does, they throw crud at people constantly hoping some of it will stick. They don't care about the issue, just about the damage it might do

That said Trish's comments are appalling and should never have been said even if it was 10 years ago

GlitterUK 12-11-2023 09:53 AM

You would think before hand BB check social medias accounts, then again I guess it is more publicity when things like this are found.
Has she apologised?

No. Trish being racist and homophobic is not the fault of the right wing at all. Don’t be an apologist for prejudice, regardless of who it comes from.

In the nicest way possible, what a load of nonsense. These tweets aren’t even bordering on bigotry, they’re outright disgusting. She was old enough to have had years of good values instilled in her by those around her, if she wasn’t clever enough to learn for herself at 22/23 years of age. You are supporting / justifying hate.

how is "Trish's comments are appalling and should never have been said even if it was 10 years ago" apologising for prejudice?

don't be an apologist for opportunists :hehe:

The first half of the post is apologising for it. Embarrassing if you can’t see it.

Im actually rolling my eyes at how over the top this is. 22-23 is still a child. Maybe not legally, but biologically she is still developing. I made stupid mistakes and said stupid things when I was 21-22. That's just part of life.

The woman holds herself accountable for her own words, she's reflective and can admit when she is wrong. If she truly believed all those things then she would have have made friends with the people she did.

She is owed the same good grace you would give your younger self and those around you.

90% of what she's said there is showboating for attention like majority of young people do.

All of the nuance has gone from life these days, Its just a constant barrage of us vs them, black and white, no grey areas.

I consider myself centre left, the left are no so far left that its bordering on Marxism.

You agree with the rhetoric 1000% because if 0.001% of you even questions the mass, then youre ejected and subjected to the same vitriol

Its embarrassing

Roll your eyes all you want. I certainly didn’t say things like that when I was 22, and wouldn’t have made excuses for anyone that did.

Oh good for you, it must be so amazing to be so perfect and to not have made any mistakes. What a high standard you've set for others though

Yeah, because expecting people not to be racist is having high standards. This is comical.

Some when someone says something unsavoury, then that is them wrote off for life? Youre not willing to allow them to change?

You think being so fatalistic is being a decent person?

Not at all, but I certainly wouldn’t try and explain why it’s justifiable to any degree. She wasn’t 12 when she wrote those messages. If someone posted a message online right now along the same lines, would you say “ah, but they’re only 22”. No, you wouldn’t. She should be held accountable, and say sorry. I didn’t once say her life is over.

Zizu 12-11-2023 10:36 AM

On a side note - aren’t they only alleged tweets at this stage ?

We shall hopefully find out the truth behind all the “tweets” .. it looks ominous at the moment but there is a very slight down in my mind that maybe her account was hacked .

It just seems a little convenient to suddenly find historic tweets from her aimed at the Chinese and disabled .. I’m half expecting some to surface dissing scousers

Presumably she will have to make a statement to explain herself ??

But one of the tweets was posted 4 years ago…she would have been 29?? What excuse can be made for that?

What part of the opening post dont you understand. At 22 your brain doesn't register consequences or rational thought.

22 is still adolescent

the one in 2019 is very very mild

GlitterUK 12-11-2023 10:38 AM

What other accounts does she have has she said anything on them?

It’s not true at all, though. It definitely doesn’t apply to everyone, and again, I don’t know anyone who would’ve posted stuff like that at that age. I’d be more inclined to put it down to a lack of education, but then saying Asian people smell like curry is not due to that. It’s just something you don’t say, whether you think it or not.

Also, not sure who told you 22 is adolescent. It’s early adulthood.

Lostie! 12-11-2023 10:41 AM

Nah sorry, somebody in their 20s doesn't get the "they were too young to know better" excuse

Now she could address this and apologize but so far she's not said a word so nobody owes her grace or forgiveness that she's not even seeking
