His bitter obsessive hatred for Yinrun was uncomfortable to watch. I don't think even Paul would've stooped to that level.

For me yea. Paul was a douche but he never went all out to target someone with such bitter hatred. Thank god Tom was in the spare room and not the main house as it would have been even more uncomfortable to watch.
