A Monday morning Christmas dilemma…

…not a great dilemma but it has a Christmas theme so here we are…

….there are 2 children/siblings and 3 Christmas gifts….2 Christmas gifts have a value of £20 and 1 Christmas gift has a value of £200…each child can be given one and only one Christmas gift and no child can share their gift with the other child…the gift that isn't used will be destroyed…

Is it better to give one child the £200 gift…and another the £20 gift, or give both children the £20 gift and destroy the £200 one…?…

Personally I would give each a £20 gift as favouring one over the other will breed resentment.

Depends on the age of the siblings if one is 15 and one is 5, giving the 200.00 gift to the 15 year old is not going to cause issues, if they are both teens the oldest gets the 200.00 gift and next time the expensive gift will go to the younger one... either way the 200.00 gift is not going in the bin :fist:

…take the £200 one and one of the £20 ones and sell them both on an EBay type market place and then buy two equally priced ones for the children and hopefully have enough left for a lovely Christmas dinner and tin of Quality Street to share as well…?…

Yeah they should both be given equal as it would show favouritism. I'd keep the 200 gift for myself I wouldnt destroy it

Yeah definitely depends on the ages, a young child won't have much concept of cost so it would be a waste to just throw it out when the older child would appreciate it. If they were close in age, I'd give them both the £20 present
