I was just thinking that .. he looked ‘ropey’ when it was first released in the 80’s ?

Miracle he even lived this long, but definitely a life well lived.

Gutted, one of my favourite bands. Wish I'd been able to see him live but he has been hanging on for a number of years now

Will be having a Pogues binge this evening

Oh the words that he spoke
Seemed the wisest of philosophies
There's nothing ever gained
By a wet thing called a tear
When the world is too dark
And I need the light inside of me
I'll walk into a bar
And drink fifteen pints of beer

Niamh. 30-11-2023 01:30 PM

Was just about to post Fiesta as well Matt, I like that one

Sad news , a great Irish sing

Vanessa 30-11-2023 02:22 PM

He did look really ill the last time I saw him. Poor guy.

Gusto Brunt 30-11-2023 03:24 PM

Very sad. I knew when the hospital decided to let him go home, it was to die. He looked so ill in his last photo. :(

He had a booze filled life which I am certain didn't help his health in later years. I'll never forget a time he rolled up on a TV chat show with a jug of Vodka that looked like water but obviously wasn't.

RIP. :(

Just like Irish-England legend Eoin Morgan :smug:

The Irish definitely do pubs and music right tbf, the Pogues were a big blend of English and Irish
