BBC TAX (Licence Fee) to go up £10:50 Next Year.

[In a statement to the Commons,
in which she did not mention the
phase “public service broadcasting”,
Frazer confirmed that the licence fee,
which funds much of the
corporation's operations,
would rise by £10.50 to £169.50 a year.]

Nasty Buggers

[The chief executive of BBC News, Deborah Turness,
said last week the impact of inflation
and a flat licence fee meant the BBC was
facing a £500m funding hole,
as she announced that the
flagship news programme
Newsnight would be cut to 30 minutes
running time and lose half of its staff.]

Doesn't affect me :hee:. Everyone should cut the cord... Leave the ****ers with no funding at all. What's left on the BBC?

Absolute disgrace this dinosaur charge is still in place.

the bbc should return to being a cheap as chips public broadcast service, or at least that should be all that is publicly funded. If they want to do fancy series and shows, that should be financed by advertising/subscription. Simple
