People stuffing themselves like pigs and throwing tons of food in the bin while others starve It’s disgusting when you think about others who have nothing but don’t let me stop you Alf from stuffing your face and washing it down with too many drinks |

Christmas day is the only day of the year my work is closed. I work hard all year round and will enjoy my day off by having a drink for our Lords birthday. |
Wake up with a killer hangover. Exchange Christmas greetings with the family. The mother often has some salmon and cream cheese things on the go for breakfast and a bucks fizz helps somewhat. Go to Church after that then go to the pub for the 2 hours it's open to soothe the hangover. Then Christmas dinner, then presents. Then a futile attempt at a board game before everyone conks out for the evening

What does yours look like Alf?

Presents is actually my least favourite bit of Christmas, I find it so awkward
Couple of years ago I had covid and spent Christmas day on my own and I absolutely loved it :hee: |

When I was living at my mothers house I did used to go to the Pub with my Dad for a pre-lunch drink. Now that I live on my own, I just like to do my own thing. And my Dad is old now so doesn't do the Christmas day pub anymore. I agree that the Presents is the boring part. I don't even need presents. I get those out of the way whilst having my breakfast. Usually a cuppa and a bacon Banjo. Last year I did have Cornflakes with Bailey's instead of milk. Probably not the best idea at 6am in the morning. |
.
Get up, coffee, shower and get ready. Sit in the chair all day while hubby and daughter cook an amazing Christmas dinner. Then we will open presents and just chill until company go home. Hoping that everyone has a happy day and no family arguments  |
Once up and ready get breakfast for everyone…scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.
Put the Christmas music on the tele and open the champagne whilst we open presents… Get some hot snacks on and nibbles out. Sit in the kitchen and enjoy a Gin and tonic whilst cooking dinner, chatting with the family and watch the Kings Speech. Dinner served around 5pm…husband clears up…boys go round to friends or girlfriends… Me and my husband sit and watch a film…he will have a turkey and stuffing sandwich and normally in bed by 10pm full and knackered…:hee: |

Although I do have my Christmas Dinner much earlier. It's more Christmas lunch to me. But I do get up at about 5:30am. |

We don’t get out of bed until 9:30…so our day starts quite late…:wavey: |
It's my mother's funeral tomorrow. I'm bricking it lol. But I've floated the idea of going down to Leysdown and scattering my mother's ashes on Christmas day. I think that would be a poetic and fitting sendoff. I know my father and I don't feel like going round anyone's on that day. I'd certainly wish to be alone.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New year. |
Thanks, Alf. That does actually mean a lot to hear. I think I'll do a Sam Thompson-style pounce on you in thanks. :hehe:
