Budget 12:30PM Live : Weds 6th March 2024 (UK has entered a Recession)

J. Hunt has just announced it.

More changes
before the General Election.

joeysteele 27-12-2023 11:44 AM

More trying to fool voters more like.
I hope the majority of them don't fall for it this time.

bots 27-12-2023 03:34 PM

if they get inflation down to 2% this year and stimulate some growth it will be good for everyone, so i'm all for it.

Logic says that the tories will be out irrespective of their performance this year, but i honestly don't know anymore what will happen

[Jeremy Hunt has announced the date
of 6 March for a spring budget,
fuelling speculation about an early
general election despite the Conservatives
trailing in the opinion polls.
With the government under pressure amid
the cost of living crisis,
the chancellor’s speech to
the Commons is widely seen as one of the
final opportunities to announce major
changes to tax and spending policy before
the next national vote.

Reports of scrapping inheritance tax
in budget ‘just speculation’, says No 10

Rishi Sunak has said he intends to
send Britons to the polls next year

but opinion is split on whether an
election is likely to come in the spring or
the autumn as the Tories battle to narrow
a commanding Labour lead.
Hunt is under pressure from his right
flank to announce a sweeping package
of tax cuts to tempt voters and bolster
Sunak’s chances, with speculation that
Downing Street is considering slashing
or even abolishing inheritance tax.]

Of course, he does have the Option
to have the General Election
no later than the
28th Tuesday January 2025.
A possible cold time.

Yes, that is possible.

Inheritance tax is a pretty evil thing, tbh. Scrap the helll out of it.

Cherie 27-12-2023 09:52 PM

honestly dont think it matters if the Torys threw actual money at voters, the political cycle calls for a change in government and the time is nigh

The fact the hateful Mail supports the inheritance tax cut policy is all I need to know that it's not the right move at this time.
How will he make up the shortfall of income from inheritance tax?

I wonder if he'll issue any more cost of living payments as general election 'sweetners' to the 'great unwashed'.
