reigning champions (2023)

Supporters Shield: FC Cincinnati
MLS Cup: Columbus Crew

46th season overall of a national first-division league in the United States.

former premier league player for Aston Villa, Burnley

Ashley Westwood also at Charlotte FC alongside Dean Smith as the captain there, whom previously played under Smith at Villa

am curious how Inter Miami & Messi will get on now, but honestly i think it'll be very tough for them considering the US have such a strong league now

i think Philadelphia Union, FC Cincinnati, LAFC are up there as the usual contenders, Columbus Crew not to underestimate

St Louis City in their 2nd season, hoping they'll do slightly better than last season also if they make it once again in the cup playoffs not immediately getting eliminated there

Atlanta United is a powerhouse in terms of huge budget

the New York teams, City kinda better than Red Bulls

amazing that San Diego will also be having its own team

I’ve got a 7 day free trial for Apple TV so I’m gonna wait for the season to start and then use it to watch the first lot of fixtures. I did a manager mode on fifa before and created my own team for MLS and I liked the way that league is structured so I wanna try and watch MLS games if I can.

I’ll be following Orlando City, Vancouver Whitecaps and New England Revolution.

San Diego FC has a british-egyptian billionaire owner btw :)

my fave teams: Philadelphia Union, Columbus Crew and i also like LAFC i guess (Cherundolo is a great manager)

i also like the US National Team, quite a strong generation currently

women's of course still better but the men's is also getting there

with the likes of the Aaronson brothers, Malik Tillman, Ricardo Pepi, Sergino Dest, ex Arsenal youth talent Balogun :D Giovanni Reyna (one of best midfielders in the world by the media)

Berhalter is a decent coach too and also nice one with a dutch past is their head coach now, from his career days in Zwolle, Sparta, Cambuur to where he is now :flutter:

San Diego FC are already preparing for next season

they want to sign Hirving Lozano from PSV

and where San Diego is the newest addition as of 2025 season, it won't be the last addition to the MLS either, apparently Las Vegas Lights are still in talks to also join the league

San Diego has such a amazing venue, where their rugby team also plays btw

Nicky91 24-05-2024 01:36 PM

Messi in his prime slay mode currently :D

was player of the month April

Inter Miami currently first place of eastern conference

Real Salt Lake in first place of western conference

but tbh doesn't say anything about who's on top of league now, what matters more in the cup phase, even the 8th ranked teams can win the mls

Nicky91 24-05-2024 01:38 PM

Dean Smith doing not too badly as manager of Charlotte FC so far, 6th place in eastern conference :)

Nicky91 08-06-2024 01:41 PM

Inter Miami top of the table in eastern conference and also in the overall table, with 35 points

although this does not say much at all who will eventually win the title  more like aussie rugby league, even those who finish 7th/8th/9th can become champions

its like playing chess, doing just enough to make it to those mls cup playoffs

player of the month awards this season

February/March: Luis Suarez (Inter Miami)
April: Lionel Messi (Inter Miami)
May: Luciano Acosta (FC Cincinnati)

most clean sheets so far

Kristijan Kahlina (Charlotte FC) & Hugo Lloris (LAFC) 7

most assists so far

Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) 13

top goalscorer so far

1. Cristian Arango (Real Salt Lake) 16
2. Christian Benteke (DC United) 13
3. Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) 12
4. Luis Suarez (Inter Miami) 12
5. Denis Bouanga (LAFC) 10
6. Daniel Gazdag (Philadelphia Union) 10
