Both.
I have my three best friends, all over 40 years of friendship now.
One lives in Scotland but we keep in touch and then try and see each other every 5/10 years.
The other two I see very regularly.
We don’t go out now but have great visits over at mine.

Newer friends are always welcome, but if they rub me up the wrong way then it is curtains,

Like Smudgie….3 close friends for 40 years. I moved away but we catch up regularly for girly weekends away and a few lunches now and again. Other friends have come and gone but ours remain tight and meaningful…we are well and truly bonded for the rest of our lives. I love them dearly….:love:
