Strictly Tibb Dancing: Dance off 2

It was food week.

Liam and Nancy Waltz to PASTA

VS

Cherie and Vito Quickstep to Cake by the Ocean

Who do you want to save?

Strictly Jake 04-01-2024 08:32 PM

I've voted for Liam. Based on the dances they were given I can see Liam's suiting the actual dance a bit more.

Plus Cherie didn't vote for me last time :joker:

This is a tough choice. Both scored 23 so a level playing field.

Feel both suited the dance well.

Still deliberating

Kate! 05-01-2024 01:55 AM

After having listened to both songs as performances twice each I'm saving Cherie.

Both were well thought out choices though.

Cheries song is much better, sorry Liam. Had either of the songs that didn't fit the theme been up though I would have voted them out because it was a hard enough theme as it was

Which songs didn't fit the theme? Mine definitely did.

Yours and Vanessas according to the instructions in the PM that Jake sent out - "Songs with a food item in the title"

Parmy stated it was either the artist name or song title. I clarified it with Jake.

Yes sorry I actually looked back in the thread and saw that, the PM Jake sent out simply said "song with a food in title" though which is kind of unfair to anyone who didn't read the thread and was just following the instructions given in that PM. It really limited the choices

Yeah I spent ages looking for a song with a food name, theme and dance really screwed me this round

I kinda sensed that with some of the choices this week, so voted accordingly  I figured not everyone saw the thread update... but think your entry did well, so don't take it too much to heart. We have so few judges and only a few points from the top result, so it's really difficult to predetermine where anyone will place. Maybe we should have ex-contestants come in as 1-2+ more judges...?

The other problem with niche themes, is it is subjective what makes something "on theme" (for a good result) versus not so fitting in with a theme... like, ok, if you have food in your song, how much food content does it have to have to reach being palatable to the judges for appropriately invoking that theme? Or is it better it is a subtly creative selection? Subjective.

Thanks for the votes folks ...got in there by a whisker

I expect the favour to be returned. Even if I'm against you.
