I'll give him credit for creativity, not many people would come up with that particular insult.

I feel the same on the darts. I have nothing personal against the girls that present it, but the reality is, they don't have a clue what they're talking about. And viewers don't deserve that.

I never had a problem when Helen Chamberlain used to present it, because she had a clue what she was talking about. She is a female. So it's nothing to do with Misogyny.

It's to do with what's right.

I've long stopped being surprised at what Joey comes out with.

I think he'd be a hoot on a night out once he started expressing his opinions.

Somehow though, I've always kind of liked him.

I get Roy Keane vibes from him although he was obviously never in Keane’s league playing-wise .

Barton did have decent technique though and was probably as evil / nasty as RoyK on the pitch ….


I hated RoyK as a player as I hated ManU but I love him now as a pundit .

This issue of female pundits just will not go away. These geezers just cannot stay off the subject. Like they've got nothing better to comment on. From Keegan to Joey Barton :facepalm:

If you take a sport like Basketball. Not many question that Cheryl Miller or Doris Burke are qualified to commentate. Same with Tennis, no one questions that Martina Navratilova can comment on men's tennis. For some reason with football its different and these guys just cannot stay off the subject.

If Joey expressed himself a little differently Id be totally agreeing about Eni Aluko. She's rubbish and on TV far too often but comparing her to a serial killer? Joey knew exactly what he was doing sending that tweet. He'll compare female pundits to Hitler next. ITs all a bit over the top

people basically say stupid **** all the time, and i would imagine JB more than most, but bringing attention to idiots like him just feeds him more

The thing above Martina Navratilova is that we all saw her playing tennis at the very highest level .. she was totally dominant for years and am amazing athlete .. none of us have ever seen these female pundits playing football and any available clips of them are completely underwhelming

That's very true. And lets face it, look at all the criticism the male pundits and commentators get. It's part and parcel of the game. Joey Barton's choice of comparison was ridiculous, but tbh at least 50% (men and women) on commentary are useless.

I agree but have to point out that Soccer Saturday currently contains among its list of pundits - Kris Boyd, Jobi MacAuff and Jamie Mackie. McANuff has played one season in the Premier league for Reading, Mackie has played one season in the top tier for QPR and Boyd has never played in the English top tier

My point on this matter has always been that they're are many unqualified pundits among the men too so why are female pundits talked about so often.

And yes he has the right to say that if he wants to, but people do have the right to not like the comparison that he has made.
