Did "The Rock" benefit from "Stone Cold's" injuries?

The Rock was the second man to Stone Cold in the attitude era. That isn't even an argument.

Stone Cold's retirement, through injury, allowed "The Rock" to go on and have legend's matches against the icons of other era's like Hulk Hogan and John Cena.

Those Wrestlemania spots should have been "Stone Cold's" In my opinion.

Did "The Rock" deserve those Wrestlemania main events or was he just filling in for the injured "Stone Cold Steve Austin?"

Great to see "Punk" back in the big league.

I hope he wins the Rumble next week.

I wanna know what you modern fans opinions are on Roman Reigns?

Is he a good front man for the current generation of WWE?

He is the main man, but is he a good one?

Does he live up to Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena?

Did his illness get him over? or did he get over deservedly?

Some views to this thread so far, but no replies.

Give me your opinions.

Are you Wrestling fans or not?

Both were great imo.

Stone Cold was always the man of the Attitude era but 2002 was easily his worst year and there was a lot of factors that contributed to it other than just his neck injury which was causing a lot of issues by late 2001.

2002 saw Triple H’s return from injury after 8 months (literally the first Raw episode of 2002 iirc?) and the debut of the NWO the following month in February. Triple H won the Royal Rumble so he was facing Chris Jericho in the main event for the title.

Stone Cold was pushed into feuding with the NWO (same as The Rock) and he was actually approached first about facing Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania but he declined because he didn’t think they would deliver a great match. The Rock took the opportunity instead which meant that Stone Cold was pushed even further down the WrestleMania card.

Eventually he was so pissed off with how creative were handling his character (plus he was going through a divorce at the same time too) that he walked out of the company.

The Rock in 2002 was gearing up for his acting career after WrestleMania. He was gone after Summerslam 2002 after losing to Brock Lesnar (and fans should watch this match, it’s a good match and it’s really odd to see The Rock get booed so much it’s kinda surreal. Everyone was pissed he was leaving WWE) and he’s only really done the odd appearances since.

I don’t think The Rock has benefited much from Stone Colds injury. He would’ve done if he stayed with WWE consistently (probably more championship reigns) but he was already established as a huge WWE star. The people that benefited were Cena, Angle, Edge, Eddie Guerrero, Big Show since it gave them an opportunity to be pushed as main eventers.

It's just a soap opera. I'm sure lots of actors have benefitted from other actors dropping or not taking roles.

Rubbish. It's real combat sport.

Go type into Google. "Odds royal rumble 2024" then come back here and admit you was wrong.

The push on women's Wrestling has destroyed the WWE.

Once again, box ticking wokeness will bring brokeness.

No real fan wants to watch women Wrestling. They're sh!t, they always have been sh!t and they always will be sh!t.

The only people that buy into women's Wrestling are the obedient people who are controlled how to think. They scared to think for themselves, because they're scared someone might call them a "bigot"

Did you type into Google what I told you to?

If so, what did you discover.

Did you see betting odds on the Royal rumble match?

Is the answer to that question, yes or no?

My point was that it’s not a sport as the results are predetermined .. sometimes as they are walking out to the ring ..

So it’s entertainment ( some would say ) not a sport and certainly NOT a combat sport

But I was just replying to Slim. He knows I wasn't being serious. But you seemed to think I was. So I carried on for a little bit more. But I'm bored now and have owned up to my betrayal.
