I recall him being possibly THE top comedian years ago but then kinda just disappeared off the scene .. I haven’t heard his name mentioned since .

Was there an embarrassing scandal of something ?

He only does the jobs he wants now - he is not short of money and had some health issues so now just does what he wants, when he wants. Apparently he is a target for the next series of Taskmaster

He is living of his earnings from who wants to be a millionaire

I never found him funny. He was just like an ordinary guy who just wouldn't shut up. Like a guy at work.

He never came across to me as a true comedian or even had star quality.

I always liked him as the host of Goldenballs. That was also the last thing I remember seeing him in.

Incidentally, as we're on a Big Brother forum, I always thought that would have been a good hosting gig for Nasty Nick Bateman, i.e., a show where you have to lie and manipulate another to get to the cash prize.

Jokes aside though it is a shame about his health, he is a very funny guy imo, and I would say that regardless of which Football team he supports.:laugh:

Made his money and retired happily I'd imagine.

Same goes for Lee Evans. Not a peep from him for years now.
