Conservative Sir Simon Clark says Sunak PM must Resign.
[A senior Tory MP has called for his party
to replace Rishi Sunak as prime minister or be "massacred" in the general election. In an article in the Telegraph, former cabinet secretary Sir Simon Clarke said the Conservatives needed a leader who "shares the instincts of the majority". Sir Simon, who rebelled on the Rwanda Bill, said the party has lost "key voters" by failing to be bold on immigration and government reform. Downing Street has yet to comment.] Sir Simon Clark who replaces him? Without massive backing this will not change much. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68077142 |
The Tories sack PM's more than Man Utd sack Managers.

[Simon Clarke's attack on Rishi Sunak is more
kamikaze than mutiny... for now Is Sir Simon proposing to stand as a stalking horse in a leadership contest? So far, there doesn't appear to be the appetite among Tory MPs for a mutiny.] By Jon Craig SkyNews Political Chief Reporter Spoiler: Large Image of Simon being made a Sir. https://news.sky.com/story/simon-cla...r-now-13055094 |
that would just be silly. Sunak is no better or worse than any other PM we have had for a long time. I'm going back to Tony Blair, John Major, Thatcher, Callaghan, Heath, Wilson.
Which one was better than Sunak? |
Unelected, so impossible to resign. :p

I've only lived through 2 of those but clearly have researched and looked back over the others. I'd say all of them were better than Sunak. He's just a selective deceitful number cruncher whose word cannot be relied on whatsoever politically. The only PMs worse than him for me are Johnson and Truss. I never liked Theresa May as a Minister or PM but she was never given a real chance by Johnson who worked against her continuously. I'd even rate Cameron better than Sunak too. I think Johnson, Sunak and Truss are probably the worst ever holders of the office of PM. Up to now. |

Sir Simon has no known backers? Seems stupid to go public without backers |
Get Kemi Badenoch in. I think it'd be the only way the Tories have a whisp of a chance.

It's actually shameful that Sunak will have had 2 years at the helm unelected. Yes I know of course "We elect the party not the PM" but let's face it the Prime Minister role in the UK is increasingly presidential, and I don't think the British public would ever have chosen him. It also totally undermines his authority as a leader on the world stage.
And it's worse than just him being voted into the position by the party because the "publicly elected" PM had to go - the leadership was all over the place with the whole Truss debacle... he ended up in the PM position by default and lack of options. A terrible situation. |
the PM never really makes decisions, it's run by cabinet consensus, nothing like being a president. Thats why Boris and Truss are no longer in power. You can try and fill a cabinet with "yes" men, but it never lasts for long before ambition and difference of opinion come to the fore
I have seen a lot of PM's now, and they all have had serious flaws. I just don't think its possible to have a "good" PM, because at some stage they are left wanting |

Blame New Labours, UnElectected PM Gordon Brown he was going to have an election but got data saying he would lose the election. |

Eden taking over from Churchill. McMillan taking over from Eden. Douglas-Home taking over from McMilan. Callaghan taking over from Wilson. Major taking over from Thatcher. It is believed when Blair led the party to an election win. There was an understanding that he would hand over to Brown. When Blair stood down, no other Labour MP put themselves up for leader so Brown was elected unopposed. Nothing untoward in any of those changeovers. This farce here with Sunak is beyond belief. He stood against Truss after Johnson stood down. He was not elected by the Con Party system as leader. Then when Truss had to go, the Cons set out to unbelievably change PM for the second time in only one year almost. However the full process of the Con party system wasn't enacted as the members this time had no say. Which I'd guess the majority are furious about still. As they never wanted Sunak. The really only unelected PM is Sunak. He's the second change of PM in a single governmental term. That hasn't been done before. Now he's the one terrified of an election, making the voters wait who want one. It's what is vitally needed, a clear the air election to restore a mandate and some credible authority to government again. That is not being done by with this farce of Sunak. The only blame lies with the Conservative Party and the contempt it is holding voters in since they appointed Sunak. Rather than elected him by their full election process. |
I still know of some Tory membership that are furious about Sunak being their leader as they feel like their opinions don't matter to the Tory backbenchers.

people are still trying to hang on to the old political system and it just doesn't exist any more. The tory party are unrecognisable from the tory party prior to the last election. The labour party will go through a similar transformation at the next election and those elected won't be anything like what we previously had. AI will be used at a local level to mess with the electorates heads, it will completely screw up choices that were typically made in the past. The most successful party will be who used AI most effectively

But I do see what you mean. |
"When Blair stood down, no other Labour MP put themselves
up for leader so Brown was elected unopposed." Sure Joey Brown was angry he had to wait so long. New Labour then was a neo-conservative group. He (Brown) was not liked, by many. Hence, the Conservative-LibDem new power in 2010 |

I would have preferred Brown as PM over Blair full stop. I don't think even had the global banking financial crisis not happened. There was no way Labour would win in 2010. I think Iraq scuppered a lot for Labour by then. Plus too, Clegg I don't believe ever had any intention of even trying to work with Labour. The Cons only got 306 seats in 2010. They weren't liked much either. |
